I was still upset after I left the hospital, so I decided to get a latte. It's what used to cheer me up, so I decided to give it a shot. I walked around the corner to La Bonne Café, a small coffee shop next to Giant. It was smokey, warm, and cozy inside. My brother and I used to go here after school. and we would look through the newspapers and talk about how horrible this world has become. I miss that. I miss doing everything with my brother. I walked up to the counter and ordered my favorite drink, an iced mocha latte. I sat down, and what I saw sitting in front of me almost gave me a heart attack.
Sitting in front of me, was my ex-best friend, Lilly, and my ex-boyfriend, Adam. I was in total shock. Please don't turn around I prayed. Lilly turned around. "Emily? Is that you?" She asked. Then Adam turned around. Great I thought. "Hi," I said in a small voice. "Hey Em." said Adam in his sexy voice. No one called me that but him. No no no I thought. Charlie. You like Charlie. The man at the counter called out a name. "Babe, go get our drinks?" Asked Adam. Lilly got up to go get the drinks. "So girl," said Adam. He got close. Really close. "Stop it," I said trying to push him away. " We're not..." He kissed me. I forgot how rough his kisses were. I tried to pull away, put he was much stronger than me. Once I get him away, I see Lilly standing there, looking at me with disgust.
"Lilly I..." I stuttered. I knew she was upset. I felt terrible. "So nothing's changed." she said with an an evil smile. "What are you talking about?" But I knew just what she was talking about, sad as it was. "You did this all the time," she said walking closer. "You stole boys like you owned the place.." "Liar!" I screamed. she came over and dumped her hot coffee on me. I could feel my skin turning red. I stood up and hit her across the face. "You...son of a..." My words were drowned out by Adam yelling "STOP!" The last thing I saw was his fist coming towards my face. Everything went black and dead quiet. And all I could think was it's over.
