Charlie's POV:

My eyes hurt. Like, really bad. I knew I wasn't asleep, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't open my eyes. It was like weights were attached to my eyelids. I could hear little whispers in the back of my mind. "I don't know if this is working," and, "Yes it will keep trying." I tried not to think of the pain, and instead on what might come after this, what Emily might look like, what I want to do when I grow up, if anything would come after this. No I thought. Don't think like that. So I thought about Emily. My mind began to wander, and I tried to come up with a picture of her in my head. Come to think of it, I've never asked her about her physical features. I knew she was beautiful, no matter what. Because beauty isn't what's outside, its what you can find inside.

Emily's POV:

I got to the hospital a little after two. The sugary should've been done over an hour ago. I thought about what Max said to me, have faith. I ran onto someone. It was Faith, the nurse, I recognized her curly hair. "Hello Emily," she said with a smile. "Are you here for Charlie?" "Yes." I said. "How is he doing?" He smile disappeared. "I don't know honey," she said. "He's not up yet." I felt my heart drop down to my feet. "Room 819." she said. "Thanks." I ran to the elevator, up to the 8th floor, and found his room. I was about to knock on the door, when I was almost hit by someone coming out. "Sorry." she said. Her eyes were bright green, and her hair a glossy black. Very contrary to my blue eyes and chestnut hair. She began to walk downstairs, when a small notebook fell out of her pocket. Robin Vaine, it said. "Um, Robin," I yelled after her. "You dropped this." She blushed. "Oh, thanks." she said. I never saw her again.

My hands were shaking as I opened the door. I didn't know what to expect. What if it didn't work? What if I did this? I didn't want to break him anymore than I have. I saw one of the nurses, Brooke, unwrapping the bandages around his eyes. "I'm sorry" she said. "But only family is..." "No," a voice said. It was Charlie's. "I want...to see...her." I ran to his side. I didn't know what to think. "Do they know the results?" I asked. "No," said Brooke. There haven't been any signs." I held my breath as she finished unwrapping the bandages. His eyes were closed. They began to flutter open. I saw the hazel-green I saw in my brothers. He looked at me...and smiled his famous smile. "Your so beautiful." He said, as tears began to stream down his face. "Oh Charlie!" I exclaimed, embracing him. Happy tears flowed out of me. I couldn't help it. My life's miracle had come true.
