"Hey Skye, welcome home," Bea says as soon as they enter, with Trevor at their heels.

"Um, hi? Why do you guys look so serious?" Skye asks, their heart pounding.

Skyler was hoping to come home and relax after everything that's happened today. But with the way that Bea and Ashton were sat on the couch, stone-faced, seeming as if they had been waiting for them.

"You two will want to sit down for this. I know that you've had a hard day, Skye, but I want to tell you before you find out some other way, " Bea says, face softening.

"Tell me what?" they ask, sitting down. Trevor sits down beside them, putting his arm around their shoulder. This gesture is grounding for Skyler. It keeps them focused on the matter at hand rather than letting their brain get ahead of them.

"Well, you... you're going to be a big sibling," she says.

"You're pregnant?" Trevor blurts out before Skyler even has a chance to think about her words.

"Pregnant?" Skyler repeats, head twitching.

"Yes, I'm pregnant. I wanted to tell you before my stomach got too big. I thought about doing it in a fun way. Like putting buns in the oven, but I thought that would be more confusing," she says.

"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" they snap. Skyler's biggest pet peeve isn't when people simplify things for them, but when they tell them that they have. What were they supposed to do? Thank them for thinking they were too dumb to get it?

"I didn't mean it like that, Skye," Bea says murmurs. "I want to be clear about this so that there's no more keeping secrets, like we talked about."

"Congrats! I'm happy for you both," Trevor says, giving Bea a hug and Ashton a clap on the back. "I should go so that you guys can talk this out. I'll talk to you later, okay Skye? And don't forget, you're welcome over any time."

Skyler gets up and hugs Trevor, not letting him go until they were sure that they'd squeezed the life out of him.

"You can call me if you need anything. I'll see you later," he says before exiting. Skyler takes a deep breath, knowing that they need to calm down. They've had enough outbursts. They can get through this.

"Girl or a boy?" they ask.

"We're not sure yet, Skye. It's too early to tell. But as soon as we know, we'll let you know and we'll have a fun gender reveal. How does that sound?" Bea asks.

"Gender reveals are kind of overrated, but okay. Do you have any name ideas?"

"Nope, not yet. We want to hear your suggestions," Ashton says.

"My suggestions? Really?"

"Of course! You're gonna be a big sibling, so it's only fair. If you help pick the name, then you'll get along well," Bea says. Skyler laughs.

"I hope so. It better be a girl. I hate boys."

Their mother laughs, patting their head.

"Well, we'll see. But I can't help that," she says, chuckling.

"That's true. If it's a boy, it's Ashton's fault," Skyler says.

"Technically speaking, yes. So you do pay attention in school sometimes!" Ashton jokes.

"When I'm not distracted, yes, I pay attention. But we learned about that stuff last year. Anyways, I have another question," they say.

"Sure! What's up, kiddo?" Ashton asks.

"Was there any signs of an abnormality? Like mine?" they ask. Skyler remembers asking about this when they were younger. They wanted to know where their autism came from. Bea had explain the abnormality the doctor had detected which led to Skye's differences today.
