I can't believe today is my last day in secondary. I can vividly remember when I was enrolled into this school when I was just two years old. Then, I was a very shy kid who finds it hard to speak to people but now I can say I'm the opposite of that.

Ammi has an album with my pictures right from preschool which I look at almost everyday since I discovered it existence. I have pictures with my best friend Noor when we were in nursery with our flowing pinafore dresses, pictures of us on school occasions with different costumes and on graduation ceremonies. I'm actually grateful that she kept does pictures for me cause watching a small version of me always never fails to make me happy.

After cross checking my work for the third time and no mistake was found, I said a silent prayer for success and closed my booklet and sat to wait for time. After forty-five long minutes time was finally up and I packed my stuff before submitting my answer booklet to the supervisor of the day.

Noor had to stay back and shade her answers again cause they were not visible enough. I stayed outside the hall for some minutes before she literally ran out of the hall and a screaming "I'm finally done with this school" she finally reached where I was and jumped on me and we both fell on the floor. We got stares from people passing by like this was their first time seeing us like that. We got up and did a mini celebration. When we finally sobered up, Noor said

"Zara can you believe we're actually done with this school?!!" I smiled while shaking my head at her. The happiness isn't mainly because she's done with secondary but the fact that we're finally leaving Royal Academy after fifteen long years. I can't say I'm not happy to leave also but I'm a little bit sad cause I've been in this school all my life and it is where I made memories I wouldn't trade for anything in this world.

People always tease us by saying if Royal Academy had a university there's no doubt we'll go there. Noor hates it when people say that. The thing is our parents are friends with the proprietress and the school is also very standard, parents who admit their kids into the school hardly pull them out.

"Hellooo!!! are you even listening to me?!" that was when I remembered Noor "sorry I zoned out, just thinking about our stay in this school" I said honestly "ohhh yeah, pioneer students of Royal Academy " she said rolling her eyes "I'm really going to miss everything and everyone, especially Mrs.Rose" she said and I nodded in agreement. Mrs.Rose was our assistant class when we came to the school as kids but her dedication and hardwork over the years earned her a promotion. She's currently the head of nursery and also an English teacher. Her love for teaching and children didn't let her be just a headmistress.

Mrs. Rose is supposed to be a principal but she didn't want anything to take her away from the kids. It's just sad that she didn't have a child of her own up till now but I pray she gets one eventually. Being among the first children she taught in her teaching career that are still around made us her favorites. She has been a mother figure to us through out our stay in the school. She's always ready to listen to us and advice on what to do whenever something comes up and we're so grateful that we had her around.

Noor lead us outside and we walked around reminiscing on memories we had in literally every corner of the school. We waved at some juniors we were close with and they also did the same. God, I'm so going to miss year 11 girls.

We passed by the painting on the wall that we made when we were in primary five as per the school's tradition. We stopped to admire and take pictures of it again when we heard a voice from behind calling us and when we turned it was none other than Farouq, our best friend, Noor's twin brother.

"So you guys just left without waiting for me bah?, no wahala" he said panting which meant he ran from wherever he was to us.
"We're all set for the sign up just waiting for you both" he added
