You know that feeling you get when something you look forward to finally comes to be and you just don't feel it anymore? It's not that you're not happy but everything just feels surreal. Well, that's how I'm feeling now.
It's finally graduation day!!!!
I just woke up and the realization hit me. I've been sitting in one spot for the past thirty minutes thinking about my life. The shrill of my phone was what brought me out of my reverie. It's a facetime call from Noor.
The first thing I noticed after picking the call was her dress that was on a hanger.
"Guyyyy!!!!!,wake up!!! It's graduation day!!!!" God, someone should please tell her I'm not deaf.
"Me answering your call is enough proof that I'm awake" I said and she rolled her eyes.
"I can't believe it's actually today!!!" I said excitement evident in my voice.
"Well you better believe it, baby!!!"
"When I realized it was today it felt so strange"
"I felt it too, it's so unbelievable"
"I know right??!!"
"I can still think back to when we were planning our prom and grad in year 9".
"Ohhhh yeah, I remember, we even picked out prom dates then" our then prom dates are still surprisingly our now dates. At least for Noor and I.
"Gosh!!,the time is so slow today" she said all of the sudden. she's really hyper today.
"Are you sure you slept today" I asked jokingly
"I did for some hours"
I'm sure she didn't go back to sleep after fajr. She's that excited.
"Let me add the rest so we can talk before we meet."
"Okay"
Farouq, Zainab, Moh, chisom and others joined the call.
"Heyyy guysss" they all said at the same time. From the sound of their voices it's obvious they just woke up.
"Are you just waking up???" That was Noor.
"Yeah?, It's 7:24 in the morning, were we supposed to be up by five?" Farouq replied rolling his eyes.
"Before you two start fighting, can we take a minute to talk about how we feel today?" Thank you Chisom.
"Today actually feels like a dream!!!"
"I can't believe we are all graduating together in this school"
"Time honestly flies"
"I'm going to miss you all, we've done so many crazy stuff together"
Hafsa had a look on her face like she just remembered something cringe before bursting to laughter
"Do you guys remember our year 9 prom?"
We all started laughing cause we had crazy plans then.
"We were just talking about it before you guys joined" I said laughing
"It was so childish"
"Who can recall the time Noor wanted to fight year 6 boys because they refused to allow our class boys play football?"
"Yeah!!!, She then dragged us with her to the field and dared the guys to send us out"
"It was really cute"
"Looking back at it, the was that nicest thing she has ever done for me" why is Farouq like this?
