A/N: Sorry this one took a while to get out- I lost motivation to write a bunch of times XD but thankfully, I got this chapter as well as the next two done. So hopefully I can stay on top of this! Here's to hoping!

Though I will admit, this is so far one of the most wholesome chapters I've written. Next one is angsty and has a major plot point in it. So uh, prepare yourselves :) it's gonna be a wild ride after this.

"So, what do you think about this?" Light shows me yet another scarf, this time a soft looking pale orange one, decorated with gentle gold threads. I just let out a sigh and nod. "It looks nice. But Light- That's the seventeenth one you have looked at purchasing and we already have like... eight we've already bought." I glanced down into the bag I was holding to see the sheer amount of scarves we had. Despite the nice moment of relaxation to breathe, I did not expect my captain to have an obsession with scarves. It was almost scary to think about- Like, if this is a lot, how many does he ACTUALLY HAVE?! No wonder Time sometimes is his voice of reason.

"Right right-" Light sighs then flicks his forehead. "Sometimes I need a limit before I literally spend my entire pack!" He chuckles, then sets the one he had in his hands, back down on the stand. "Yet I feel like I'm just making you carry everything. Why don't you pick something out, Grace?"

Captain looks at me and I rub my neck with a free hand. "Uh... Nothing's really caught my eye." I admit, before I looked around the marketplace. So many Violets were out and about, despite the recent attack, just going about their days. After a moment, my eyes land on a jewelry stall three stalls away from us. I fiddle with my heart earring in my left ear before biting my cheek a little.

I could get my other ear pierced. I only had my left one pierced because I wanted to wear the gift Exos and Aza had given me. Yet I didn't know how I felt about getting another piercing. Last one took a bit to actually heal over properly. But... It'd be nice to express myself a bit more, without having to struggle with a scarf, or wearing excessive amounts of bracelets. Or getting tattoos. Colors- I still think Burst is such a maniac for doing that.

"Come on," Light says, drawing me from my thoughts as he bee-lines towards the stall I had been looking towards. Part of me wants to protest, but I sigh and just follow after him. Maybe it would help Light feel comfortable.

We weave through the crowd and reach the stall, where stands and racks of necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, and hair tassels sat neatly arrayed in the sunlight. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but I walk towards the hair tassels first. The ones that caught my eye first was a simple golden chain with delicately made golden flowers, a silver corded one with beautiful purple gems attached and silver droplets hanging from the gems, and finally, an elaborately woven gold chain with silver links woven in with green and orange gemstones. I admire the detailing on all three before I pick up the elaborate golden chain and look at the price.

Fifty-three gold pieces.

I sigh and set it back down. Way too expensive to merit wearing it casually. I might break it with wearing it every day and I didn't want to waste money like that.

"That what you want?" Light settles his hand on my shoulder and I look over at him. "Oh- no. It's too expensive. Fifty-three gold pieces." Light simply shrugs and picks it back up. "It's not as expensive as it could be. Why don't you still get it? It's honestly really well crafted."

I bite the inside of my cheek a little. It was really well made. I just didn't want to ruin it from daily usage. As well as... I felt uncomfortable just simply buying expensive things like this.

Light presses it back into my hand, making me glance up to see a genuine smile on his face. I... I guess I could. "Here, why don't we see what else catches your attention before we are finalized." He shifts over to look at the other displays as I simply look back down at the chain in my hand. It was really beautiful. And... It reminded me of Verde and my parents. A small feeling closes up my throat as I think back to how long it's been since I last saw my family. I hope they are doing alright... I really miss them. Maybe when things calm down enough, I can go visit them. I did miss Oren's home-made cooking.
