Eren's POV
Annie is currently in a battle against those creatures. Striking and slaughtering them one by one. Protecting me with an unbelievable miracle.
I remain amazed. Eyes in a daze. Can't believe this sight's ablaze.
Those creatures?
This light??
Annie???
When I try to get up, I feel the excruciating pain once again. Reflexively, I grip my right shoulder tightly. I forget that my hand is now injured-severed.
"Eren, don't move!"
She looks at me-eyes a gleaming ray. Her long hair cascades-shimmering beneath the majestic sun's sway. The radiance becomes her attire-a solar yellow display.
"I-I want to help you." I replied with a groan.
"Fool! You're wounded!"
Hearing her words, my ego whispers. Whispers, then incites. Incites me to ignore her command. The command to stay seated and take shelter behind her figure. To let her protect me and fight alone against those bastards.
To hell with it!
I release my grip on my shoulder. Due to the pain, I almost faint instantly. But not now. I reach for the backpack on my back and search for a iron baton my father gave me. A baton that can be extended and shortened. He taught me how to fight with this baton. Though it looks simple, at least this object can be used for combat.
"Eren! Sit down!" She turned her gaze towards me again.
I pay no attention to her. I step forward to get closer to her so that I can fight alongside her. I let my blood stain the platform's tiles. Even though I have to endure immense pain, I must help her fight. No matter the consequences.
"EREN! SIT-!"
At that moment, just as Annie turns her attention towards me, an attack comes from her blind spot. Causing her body to be thrown far away, hitting those pillars.
The radiance within her slowly dims-disappearing. Blood becomes her attire now.
Seeing a golden opportunity, the creatures quickly attack and continuously hurt her.
What have I done...
In an instant, I run towards those creatures to save her. Hit after Hit. Strike after Strike. I swing the baton in my left hand-hitting and striking-regardless of the fact that several liters of blood are leaving my right shoulder.
My hits are mild. My strikes are wavy. My left swing lacks the might of my right. But that's okay. Some of them fall, and some even shatter. They're numerous, but they're like fire ants.
I keep moving closer to Annie. However, just when I think I've defeated some of them, I witness terror unfolding before my eyes. The fallen ones, even the shattered ones, rise and come back to life. Every wound I inflict on them instantly heals-replaced with a repulsive mixture of flesh and new bones.
Not only blood, but my sweat also pours profusely. Both my legs are nailed-unable to move. My body trembles intensely. I've never felt this terrified in my life.
They approach me-changing the target. They surround me-leaving Annie, who is covered in blood and wounds.
"ARGHHH!!!"
The pain strikes me again. This time, not from my right shoulder, but from both my legs. At the moment, both of my legs are literally nailed down. I mean, literally. Two stakes are impaled through both my legs.
