SOMETIME EARLIER...
TWO DAYS AFTER THE DEIKA INCIDENT, a large storm came crashing down mercilessly on the city of Musutafu. The once bright blue sky was blanketed by dark grey clouds, hindering even a string of sunlight from passing through, which poured a seemingly endless rainfall below, and at some intervals gave an angry growl with a spark of lightning.
Citizens could hardly stride about the road, and so most hastily sought shelter under establishments. Anyone would not be able to discern the time of day if it weren't for their watches or digital clocks for the day was nearly as dark as the night.
Some recognized the series of debacles that recently occurred and felt perturbed and alarmed. They couldn't help but concede at the unfortunate state of their country. This storm brought an eerie impression that very few people sensed; it was as though this storm was a foreboding, some sort of warning of a beast slumbering somewhere in the city soon to be awakened, bringing forth destruction and irrevocable chaos.
Another roar of thunder reverberated throughout the city. And as though it was some type of alarm, heavy yellow eyes started to weakly flutter open. The pair, dulled by numbing pain, narrowed as their vision slowly came to view all the while adjusting to the bright light. Upon the restoration of clear vision, Himiko Toga looked about her surroundings barely registering her condition.
Her heart beat furiously inside her chest upon recognizing that she could see nothing but darkness in her left eye. After seconds of composing herself, she observed that the darkness was merely from the patch that covered it. Then her uncovered eye traveled around her. She was in a white room, the first thing she saw was the white ceiling and the wall beside her. After some moment, she acknowledged the soft bed which she laid on. When was the last time she rested in such a warm and comfortable bed? Now fully regaining her consciousness, she jerked herself upward though immediately regretting doing so upon feeling spikes of pain across her body.
She noted the stitches across her arms and legs, and felt some on her face too. Bandages were also present. Her hand raised to the patch on her eye; it was then she recalled the battle between the League of Villains and the Liberation Army.
Himiko remembered being on the brink of death. She knew that undoubtedly she would have been dead if she weren't found in that storage room or wherever she hid in. She couldn't remember.
She knew, however, in absolute certainty that whoever saved her, they were not in the League of Villains.
Just then she took notice of the glass wall in front of her, it was then she realized that she had been imprisoned. Her mind finally concluded at the thought that she had been captured by the pro heroes.
Despite this notion, her determination to achieve her goal, of going back to her other members, remained undeterred. She quickly searched through her body in a fruitless search of her weapons; this was done out of desperation more than in rationalization.
Her face churned in frustration then in hopelessness, before resting into complete blankness apparently begrudgingly accepting her fate; however, still holding that strong will to attain back her liberty.
Himiko buried her face onto the pillow, groaning in frustration.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty," A familiar voice said suddenly somewhere, prompting the injured girl to rise into a defensive position instinctively.
"Woah! Chill there, Carmilla. I'm not looking for a fight."
Himiko frantically looked around for the owner of the voice and just like a phantom, (Y/N) appeared before her behind the glass which confined her from the world.
