Jimin shook his head. He glanced at himself in the mirror for what felt like the hundredth time. It was so hard getting out of bed in the morning. There was a nagging feeling inside of him - he didn't feel like doing anything anymore.
Ever since his brother had passed away, Jimin had felt his own self withering away too. He had always been close to Jihyun. His little brother had always struggled to make friends at school, so Jimin had made his mission to stick up for him. But in the final moments, he had failed.
He still remembered the moment when he had received the phone call. A bus accident. All those years, his entire childhood, was erased in an instant.
Jimin took a deep breath. Sometimes, when he thought about it deeply, a crushing pain would fill his chest and he would need to blink back tears. Other times, it felt manageable. But mostly, that would be accompanied with a sickly guilty feeling.
He pulled himself away from the mirror before he started to cry again. People always said that he and Jihyun looked alike.
"Jimin, can you hurry up?" a cry came from the hallway. It sounded suspiciously like Hoseok.
"Coming!"
He picked up his bag from its resting place on the floor and headed out of his room. He didn't know what they were going to do in the studio today (did it really matter anymore), but if he was late, the others were going to be pissed.
He hadn't told the others about what had happened. He didn't know how to. He felt like he didn't need to. He trusted the others would understand his need to be by himself now.

Jungkook sulked. Practice was usually more fun than this. They would usually be joking around and teasing each other. But today, the atmosphere was tight and strained, as if it was a rope that had been stretched way beyond its capabilities. If anyone said the wrong thing, the entire thing would give way.
He didn't miss the way that Jimin looked. His face was drawn up, all bored and sullen. Briefly, Jungkook wanted to ask if everything was alright, but he never got the chance.
As soon as they were let out for a break, Jimin sped away from all the others. He sat down on the floor and started playing with his phone.
"What's up with him?" Yoongi asked.
Namjoon shrugged.
"He's been like that for weeks," Taehyung said.
"I know," Namjoon said. "It's kind of annoying."
"Like, if something's wrong, he can just say. But he's just avoiding us. So it makes me think that he's being annoying," Jin said.
"Yeah."
Jungkook sighed. He decided to go and try to cheer Jimin up. Quickly, he went over to Jimin and sat down next to him.
"What are you looking at?" he asked.
"Nothing." Jimin sounded exasperated.
Jungkook tried to lean over to see, but Jimin switched his phone screen off and turned away from him.
"Why won't you let me see?"
"You don't need to."
"Is it something bad?" Jungkook smirked. "Something NS-"
Jimin's eyes didn't light up with that characteristic sparkle. Instead, he looked annoyed.
"No, absolutely not," he said slowly.
