Kalani Above!

!!!!!This is a VERY short book!!!!!!!!! (But its good! Enjoy:))

This whole book is in Joshs Point Of View!

~We'll do it all, Everything, On our own~

I look around the new apartment Kalani and I moved into two weeks ago.

We have finally unpacked all of the boxes and Kalani has begun to paint masterpieces on the walls.

As I set up the cables for the TV I am to hang up on the wall, I watch as she dips her brushes into cans of brightly colored oil paints and creates intricate swirls that turn into the most beautiful flowers.

On one wall, she has invented a beach scene with the sun setting in the background and seagulls resting on the shore.

On another, the night sky is represented with a deep blue dotted with bright yellow and white stars. Now she is working on a flower garden with a fountain resting in the center of it.

The forth and final wall of our rather boxish home is yet to have been started.
We've been living together for two years before this, leaving the overcrowded college dorms behind us after our first two years of college together to rent an apartment with some friends off campus.

That's actually how the two of us met.

We didn't start officially dating until a few months before graduation, but here we are now. On our own in the city that never sleeps.

Once I finish with the TV, I hop off the ladder I was perched on and walk up behind my girlfriend.

I wrap my arms around her waist from behind and rest my chin on her shoulder. I inhale the toxic scent of the paint and the sweet aroma of Kalani's Bath & Body Works Beautiful Day body spray.

"You better get cleaned up so we're on time for our reservation," I whisper directly into her ear, kissing her cheek.

She nods her head and drops her dirty paintbrush in a jar of water. I untie the knot in the back of her smock and she disappears behind the only door in our apartment other than the front door.

She pops her head out from inside our bedroom and smiles widely.

"Hey Josh? I love you."

"Ditto," I say with a grin.

Kalani's smile droops before she disappears once again and I can't help but wonder why.
