"Did you see that look Flitwick gave Sprout today? When he came in to borrow some parchment?" Magnolia asked, shovelling a spoonful of potatoes into her mouth. Nova turned toward her, dipping her bread roll into the gravy bunched up on the side of her plate.

"No? He was barely in the room for a minute, Mags," she giggled, smothering the roll before bringing it to her lips. "And besides, it was probably a look of appreciation for the parchment."

Magnolia snorted and pointed her fork up at Nova. "Nah, that was the look of 'I'm going to snog you senseless after classes end."

The brunette almost choked on her roll, causing Magnolia to pat her on the back as they both chuckled. "If you got that from a half second glance, then I'm scared to see what else you could pick up on, you're like a bloodhound," Nova hummed, opting for a glass of water. Magnolia winked at her and smiled to herself, glancing over at the teacher's table.

There's was a shuffle behind them and both girls turned to see Cedric dashing toward them, apologising to a few students as he sped past. They looked at him with bemusement as he threw himself down on the seat next to Magnolia and gripped her shoulders.

"Merlin, what?" she croaked, letting her fork fall from her mouth. He caught it before it could tumble onto the table and pointed it up at her. "I have news, good news! Exciting news," he beamed, almost bursting with energy.

Nova laughed and rested her arms on the table, leaning forward to see him better. "What news Ced?"

He gripped Magnolia's shoulders tighter, and she gave him a crazed look, "spit it out will you, before you spontaneously combust."

Cedric let out a half crazed laugh and brushed a hand through his hair, resting back on the table. "Okay so, Lee Jordan -you know the usual quidditch commentator- he's fallen ill and had to be sent home!"

Magnolia furrowed her eyebrows and turned to look at Nova with a wildly perplexed expression.

"That doesn't sound like a good thing?" the brunette girl hummed, brushing at the underside of her chin.

Cedric cleared his throat. "No, of course not, he's a good fella and I hope he recovers soon but... they need someone to commentate the game tomorrow," he creaked, over-brimming with enthusiasm.

Magnolia's eyes widened, and she gripped his shoulder. "Don't do this to me Diggory, I swear if you get me hyped up then tear my dreams down I'll skin you alive," she sneered.

Nova glanced between them both. "Huh?"

"So, some of the teams were talking, trying to find who could jump in and I mentioned you, said you'd be perfect for the job and then the twins backed me up and, well... guess who's commentating the game tomorrow?!" Cedric grinned.

Nova let out a little screech and grabbed Magnolia's shoulders, cheering, but the girl was deathly quiet, just staring into Cedric's face.

The brunette shook her, but she just blinked.

Cedric waved a hand over her face and looked up at Nova, who shrugged.

"You're not lying?" Magnolia whispered after a minute, eyes wide and excited. He shook his head with a smile and she jumped up, wrapping her arms around his shoulders.

Nova laughed at the sudden movement and let her head fall into her hands happily.

"Do you know how much this means to me?! I've always said if I couldn't get on the team, I would commentate the game. I just, I fucking breathe this shit, this is so important to me Cedric, I can't believe you've done this for me, I could kiss you!" she screeched, hugging him tightly.
