Nova Lupin, despite her warm, sunshine-like smile and golden hearted nature, has a hard time with control-whether it be the changing colours of her eyes or the burning emotion inside of her trying to claw its way out.
When her father gets a job at...
She has light brown hair that falls just past her shoulders and hazel coloured eyes (most of the time.)
Nova is kind, loyal and passionate, always full of music and light. She joins Hogwarts as a 4th year student when her father is hired as the new defence against the dark arts professor.
As soon as she arrives at the school she is sorted into Hufflepuff, following in her mother's footsteps.
Up until that point Nova had been homeschooled by her father for her own protection; she's not like other students, there's a darkness within her that she tries to keep at bay but she struggles with control.
She also has Metamorphmagus qualities just like her mother. It changes the colour of her eyes to reflect her emotions, but she tries to keep that concealed too, though she's an open book if someone pays enough attention to read her.
Nova joins Hogwarts eager to learn and make friends, however she's seen as an outcast by some for many reasons; joining Hogwarts too late, being homeschooled, being the daughter of one of the teachers just to name a few. She can become a target at times, especially with her kindness and reluctance to fight back, but she keeps a smile on her face, not wanting anyone to know how their words really affect her.
Harry, Ron and Hermione are in the year below but still they welcome Nova into their group with open arms, showing her around the school and introducing her to the kinder students like Fred, George and Cedric who are all in Nova's year. She sticks with them but soon finds that she can't help but catch the eye of a certain Slytherin boy... even if she is warned to stay away from him.

Mattheo Thomas Riddle:
Son of Bellatrix Lestrange and Tom Marvolo Riddle.
He has dark brown curly hair and dark brown almost black coloured eyes.
Mattheo is harsh, short tempered and sarcastic. He sticks to himself and would rather make enemies than friends. He's the son of the infamous 'he who will not be named' and the remarkably insane Bellatrix Lestrange, though he'd never met either of them. Mattheo grew up alongside his cousin Draco, after being taken in as an infant by his aunt and uncle.
His name holds a reputation. One Mattheo isn't too fond of himself, but Draco strives for it using his older cousin as a power source though he doesn't see the struggles that come with the name. Mattheo does; he's lived with them his whole life, the stares, the mumbles and the whispers around the corridor.
People are afraid of him, of who he will become, no one will get close enough to see him as anything other than his father.
That is until Nova comes along.
They are in the same year and on her first day of school she's assigned the seat next to him. Instead of avoiding him and scouting her chair as far away as possible as he expected, she strikes up a conversation willingly.
Nova's the first person to see him for more than his last name, the first person who's showed interest in truly being his friend, but Mattheo has a hard time breaking his walls down to let her in and with his father slowly rising through the ashes being friends could lead to some pretty dangerous consequences.

(Double disclaimer: I would also like to point out that in this book Nymphadora Tonks is not Andromeda Blacks daughter. The Blacks family line is far too long and complicated and I didn't want there to be any blood relation between Mattheo and Nova, despite Black tradition hahaha. Nymphadora is also Remus' age for this stories sake.)
