In my story the day after Christmas isn't a holiday.

Max's POV

The memories of last night kept replaying in my head, making it hard for me to focus on my assignments. I felt heat rising to me cheeks as I remembered the way his aroused face looked. He was panting like crazy and his eyes were filled with lust as he kept pounding me.

Stop thinking about it, Max! You can't get a boner at work!

It was my first time and I was relieved at how much better it was than I imagined. I never thought I'd meet someone who would want to spend the night with me just as much as I wanted with them. That's why last night was like a dream come true. And the pleasure was beyond what I expected! I definitely planned to sleep with Oliver again as soon as possible. But right now my back was hurting, so I decided to rest for a few days.

People around me were chatting about the presents they received, proudly naming all the things they got. My eyes fell on my hand that was positioned at the keyboard and typing an email. A golden ring was wrapped around my ring finger, making me grin uncontrollably.

A few other people already noticed it and asked what lucky person I got it from. I just told them it was from a friend, but they wouldn't believe me, saying something about my girlfriend being lucky to have me. And I just let them. They weren't so wrong after all.

The thought of Oliver wearing the silver ring I got him made my heart flutter. I was sure they were asking him similar questions as well. I wondered how he answered them.

"Apparently, someone new will be joining us," I overheard someone say and immediately got deja vu. It felt similar to the day I first met Oliver. I was curious as to who this mysterious person was.

"I heard he's handsome!" Although I listened, I didn't stop what I was doing. Now that I had a boyfriend and was happy, I wasn't interested in the newcomer's looks at all. However, I could use a new friend.

As if on cue, our boss entered the room with a man following behind him. But I couldn't get a good look on his face because of the boss blocking my field of vision. Only when they stopped in the middle of the room did I see the man's face.

The rumors weren't lying. He was indeed good looking.

"Everyone, welcome your new colleague Julian. He will be joining us from now on!" the boss announced and petted his shoulder. A few people went forward to introduce themselves, but I stood still.

My mouth fell slightly ajar and my eyes widened as I realized who this might be. The name was the same and even his appearance matched Oliver's description. Blond hair and tall. A smile that lured people in and made them instantly place their trust in him.

This really was him. There was no mistaking it.

The man standing in front of me was Oliver's ex boyfriend. The person who left him with a broken heart.

I gritted my teeth. I couldn't forgive him. Not after the things he made Oliver go through. And what luck for him to end up right here! Just how could we make him change workplaces?

Suddenly, someone tapped my shoulder, startling me. Turning around, I was met with Oliver standing next to me and when I properly looked into his eyes, I could see the pain he was hiding. My brows furrowed with worry and anger towards the newcomer.

"It's him, right? Are you okay?" I asked him and he replied, "Yes and I guess I'm fine." But I saw through his lies. He wasn't fine at all! Just how much more pain does my lover have to go through?!

The anger must have been evident in my eyes because Oliver tried to calm me down. "I'm really okay now, babe. He's just someone I met in the past. He no longer has a place in my heart. You're the only one."

I smiled at him and caressed his cheek. "I'm glad I'm the only person in your heart, but I know how much this prick has hurt you! And I can't forgive him that easily!" Oliver sighed and leaned into my hand. He seemed tired.

"Okay, I'll admit that I might feel a bit sad at the sight of him, but I no longer harbor any feelings towards him. You have to believe me!" he stated and I smiled reassuringly. "I wasn't thinking anything of that sort. I believe you. Don't worry."

Oliver smiled back at me and in that moment I realized in what position we were. I quickly retracted my hand from his cheek and anxiously looked around, hoping that no one saw us. People would surely be suspicious if they caught us being this close.

I wasn't ready to come out with our relationship to others. Thankfully, Oliver was understanding and told me he'd wait till I was ready. No matter how long that took.

That's why we decided to keep it a secret and kept a safe distance at work. A mistake like this never happened before! Luckily, no one witnessed it and we could continue hiding it.

"I think no one saw..." I said and locked eyes with Oliver. It seemed as if the pain in his eyes had doubled, but maybe I was only imagining it. "Let's get back to work," he uttered and averted his eyes. I nodded in response, wondering if I had done something wrong.

However, before we could part ways, a person we definitely didn't expect approached us. "No way... Oliver?!" the voice asked. "Julian? Why are you here?" Oliver inquired, trying to keep an unbothered face. "Long time no see, man! How have you been?"

Julian was acting as if nothing happened. As if he had done nothing wrong in the past. His act made my blood boil.

"I've been great. Now if you'll excuse me, I still have some unfinished business with my friend here," Oliver replied with a cold face, but I knew that wasn't how he really felt. "Don't be like that, Oli. I admit I may have made a mistake the last time we saw each other, but that's all in the past, no?" Julian insisted, ignoring me.

"First of all, don't call me that. Second of all, it wasn't just some mistake. But whatever. I don't care anymore. So let's act like we don't know each other and return to being strangers," Oliver declared and was about to walk away, when Julian suddenly grabbed his hand by force, keeping a tight grip on it.

"Let go," Oliver hissed, growing furious with each passing second. And so was I.

The guy just smiled wickedly. "I tried to be friendly and do it the nice and easy way. But if you insist on rebelling like this, I'll have no choice but to do it the hard way." Oliver's expression switched from anger to worry. "What do you mean?"

"You know what I saw just a while ago?" he smirked. "What was that with the guy's hand on your cheek? That's pretty gay." Oliver's face turned into one of terror. "You wouldn't..." he muttered.

"I'm guessing you don't want others to find out about your relationship, right?" Julian threatened and my eyes widened.

This guy was more dangerous than I thought...
