Personality:
He is what you would call a warm person. When around him he's like the sun; warm, welcoming, and pleasant to he around. He's easy going and doesn't hold any grudges, he opens his arms to anyone and will never judge a person no matter what they've done. He believes that there is good in everyone and sometimes it needs to be drawn from a person by the people around them. He doesn't believe in changing anyone, because you can't do that, only they change if they are willing and motivated to do so. He's generous, he's a true philanthropist and he's humble about it. He doesn't brag or hold any pride, he does it because it's the right thing to do and it makes him happy to see others happy. He's gentle and compassionate and soft natured, which he finds to be some of the best strengths a person could have. He's open minded, which is a good thing because he's he's rarely opposed to anyone's views. He respects them even if he may not agree with them, but that is hardly ever since he can see things from different points of view.

Likes:
Cats and kittens : He has always had a soft spot for them. The finds them gentle creatures, ones that deserve love and care. He loves everything about them from their soft fur, their wet noses, purring and making biscuits. | Milk and cookies : its the staple point of their kingdom because no one does it like Christmas. Not to mention some of the village kids mistake him for jolly old Saint Nick and gift him milk and cookies. | Coffee : his doctor suggested he stop all Coffee intake with his declining health. But he hasn't heeded his suggestions. If he's going to die he should at least do it enjoying his morning coffee with an extreme amount of hazelnut cream. |

Dislikes:
There isn't a lot he doesn't like, but the one thing he doesn't like, and it is dying. He knows it's inevitable and with his rapidly declining health, it's only a matter of time. He doesn't like the idea of leaving his children, but he knows they will carry out doing what is right and be the best rulers a kingdom could ever ask for. |

Backstory:
He took the throne at the age of 13 when his parents passed away. It was a lot to burden being so young but thankfully the officials of the court helped aid him.
He fell in love and married his late wife at eighteen. They had known each other since they were children and that love never left.
When their only daughter was born he felt so happy happy have an heir. She was his everything. He spoiled her with love and taught her how to be a good person.
So, when his daughter fell and love and married a commoner he couldn't have been more happy. He knew his late son-in-law was the perfect person for his daughters.
Unfortunately, a year after his daughter's wedding, his wife passed away and left him heartbroken. He vowed to ever low again.
He threw himself into spending time with the kingdom's people, often being called Grandfather Christmas, because of his gentle and kind nature. He loved giving back to his kingdom and making sure everyone was happy and needed nothing.
Then his daughter gave birth to their only son, but died shortly after due to complications. It devastated him, but his son-in-law took it the hardest.
His son-in-law didn't want his son to grow up an only children so he adopted the second prince and sometime later the twins. Unfortunately, a year later he also passed away in a freak car accident on the way back to the castle from the village. He was left alone to raise his grandchildren all by himself and he managed to do his best.
Now that his health has been declining in the past few years he figured it was best to hold a selection, a chance for his grandsons to find a potential wife. He knows he won't last until the end of the year and he has three months for them to get married. He wants to see that before he goes, even if he isn't able to participate, he just wants to see their happiness.

Other: There isn't a single person who doesn't like him, he's a very likeable person. | He often dresses up as Santa and many young children believe he is truly Santa. | He actually owns reindeer that roam the castle grounds and can be ridden and petted. |
