Song of the day: Troublemaker by Olly Murs :)
Chapter 5:
*Kim's P.O.V.*
No matter how long I stared at the impossible wall of white, it would not go away. I thought I could use the force to move it, but to no avail. I guess I would have to accept that I in fact, did not have superpowers. Sigh, life is harsh sometimes.
Anyways, it didn't go away. It actually got bigger. Me, Audi, and the boys had been sitting in random tables for the last hour, watching the snow pile grow and grow. Hardly any words had been said. No one really knew what to say, besides the obvious "When did that happen?"
I sighed and pulled my hair out of my ponytail, messing around with it a bit, trying to tame it. I was getting a headache from the stupid ponytail holder. But my thought kept going to back to the question I'm sure was on everyone's mind. What were we going to do?
I checked my phone. It was almost twelve now. Then I realized something. I had my phone! I could call for help!
I jumped up excitedly, yelling to the group of people lying around. "Guys! We're saved!!!"
They all jumped up, realizing the obvious solution as I waved my phone around, doing a happy dance. I wanted to cry from happiness. I thought we were going to be stuck in this place forever!
I quickly unlocked my phone and dialed the first number on my speed dial, my dad. Maybe he could come and shovel us out? Or at the very least, call a company to rescue us.
I waited and waited as it rang, until finally a pre-recorded voice came on.
"We're sorry, but your call could not be completed as dialed."
"Excuse me?" I said.
I dialed again, more urgent this time. The same voice came on, saying the exact same thing. It finally dawned on me what was happening. I turned my phone's screen off slowly.
"What happened? Didn't anyone pick up?" Liam asked me, concern thick in his voice.
"No... they can't. There isn't any service. The storm must have knocked it out or something." I said, looking around at the worried faces surrounding me. They all took out their phones and checked the screens, faces falling as they saw that I was right.
"We can't reach them, they can't reach us." Audi said, looking at me. "What happens now?"
They others looked at me as well, apparently expecting me to have some sort of knowledge in this sort of area.
"Well... I guess just wait the storm out. It can't last forever, right? And in the meantime, we'll have to stay here tonight. We have food and stuff, at least. Probably extra blankets somewhere too. We'll be fine! It will be like a slumber party, and tomorrow someone will come and rescue us!" I said, my hopes starting to rise as I formulated this plan on the spot.
"SLUMBER PARTY!" Lou said excitedly. "Let's play a game to get things started!"
"Woah, woah, woah. Slow down, tiger. First, we need to get supplies ready." I said, deciding to be responsible for the moment.
Under normal circumstances, I would have jumped to play a game and have some fun, especially with boys as hot as the five with me right now. But these were not normal circumstances, and I was tired. I just needed some quiet.
Louis' shoulders literally drooped.
"Tomorrow, okay?" I said with a small smile. He instantly brightened, nodding happily, making me chuckle a bit.
"Okay then. " I said, turning to Audrina. "You know the back store room? There should be some extra emergency blankets back there. Can you go grab some? We'll set up a sort of sleeping area in here." She nodded and went to fulfill the given task.
I turned back to the five boys looking at me expectantly, not quite sure what to say.
"Is there anything we can help with?" Liam asked.
"Um... Yea, actually. Do you think you could help me move all these tables? We'll just put them off to the side here, and when Audi comes back we'll set up a sleeping area for the night."
They all nodded and we started piling chairs to the side, and then pushing the tables out of the way as well. It only took a few minutes. We had just finished moving the last table as Audrina came back, hands full with blankets.
"This is all I could fine; hopefully there's enough." She said, dumping the pile at my feet. I quickly bent down and counted them, muttering under my breath as I did so.
"Eight blankets. How should we divide them?"
"We can put a few down around on the ground, as a sort of mattress, and use the rest of them to cover up when we sleep." Harry piped up from the side of the café. I nodded.
"Let's get to it then." Audi said, and we set to work.
Ten minutes we had it sorted out. We had put three down on the ground, to cushion the hard floor a bit, which left five others to use for warmth later on. There wasn't enough for each of us to have our own, so four of us had to double up and share one. The blankets were bigger than I originally thought, so this wasn't much of a problem.
"Dibs on my own blanket!" Louis said, grabbing one and running to the edge of our "mattress," immediately sitting down and wrapping it around his shoulders. Strange child.
The remaining six of us looked at each other, shrugging.
"Me and Kim can share one. We don't really care." Audi told the others.
"Fight it out amongst yourselves." I said, smiling.
After a minute, they had decided that Zayn and Liam would get their own blankets, and Harry and Niall would share.
It was about quarter after one in the morning now, and I was quite exhausted. I let out a massive yawn. You know how people say yawns are contagious? Well, I can tell you now firsthand it's true. Everyone started yawning.
It was a bit awkward actually; all seven of us standing there yawning. After our yawning fit was done, we all burst out laughing. We must have been more tired than I thought, because we couldn't stop. Literally.
Maybe it was our situation, and we were stressed from nerves. Maybe our inner minds really did think something was funny, but here we were just laughing and laughing.
Now I must tell you this, when I start laughing like this, I can't stop. SO I was still laughing when everyone had stopped. My laugh is pretty obnoxious, so that of course made everyone else laugh again.
I was at the point now where I was making no noise. I think I grew abs.
"AHAHAHA okay... I'm done. I'm done." I told them, panting a little from my laugh attack.
"Good. That was actually quite scary." Niall said, laughing to himself as he said it. Louis nodded, pulling weird faces at me. And I was off again, holding my stomach as if it would stop the laughing.
"Look what you did! She was finally settled down! And now you've started it again! I should have warned you her laughs." Audrina said, sighing and sitting down on our make shirt mattress. Niall sat down instantly beside her.
"HAHAHA! Guys... I think... you... I think... you broke... me! HAHAHHAHA!!!!" I said, rocking back and forth on my heels as I laughed.
"This is going to be a long night. Thanks Lou." Zayn said, looking at me, unsure. Probably questioning my sanity.
