Chapter 3:
*Kim's POV*
"It's really starting to get bad out now, isn't it Audi?" I said to my friend, who decided to keep me company until the end of my shift. Afterwards we were going to go over to her house for a Glee-a-thon. Finn Hudson, here I come!
"Yeaa, we should be okay though. I don't live that far from here!" She replied, giving me a reassuring smile.
It was just about 11, and my co-workers had all gotten off from their shifts early. My boss had left already too, deciding that the shop would have to be closed because no one is crazy enough to go out right now. They wouldn't think "Oh, look, it's snow storming worse than the North Pole outside... perfect weather to go to Timmie's to get a coffee!" Ya... not gonna happen.
Anyways, she decided that since I had been working here longer than the other cashiers, I was the one who would get to close down. Lucky me, eh? Yes, I'm a Canadian and I do say eh. Problem with that?
Unghh I hate it here right now. Sooo bored. Soo late! Okay, that's it, I can't take it much longer. We're leaving.
"Let's go now. No one will care if I leave early. No one's coming anyways! Just let me go back and get my coat quick, kay?" I said, not bothering for a reply as I headed towards the back of the shop.
I made if halfway when the power shut out. Crap! I guess I would have to feel my way in the dark.
"Ninja skills, don't fail me now! Help me find the coatroom! FOR NARNIA!!!" I tried to do a somersault, one that would hopefully bring me to the back of the store, but my body had other plans. I hit a table, knocking it over. There was an enormous bang followed by several crashes as the chairs fell one by one, followed by the table. Luckily, nothing fell on poor little me.
"Hahahah! You okay Kimbo?" I heard Audi laugh from her chair in the corner.
"Oh, just peachy. I love it when I bash my head into a metal table. With any luck, I cracked my head open and will bleed all over the floor." I replied, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
Just then the lights turned back on, revealing a bruised me sprawled over the floor in my Tim Horton's uniform. Audrina took one look at me and was done. She doubled over in her hair, almost falling out of it. Great friend I have.
"Yea, don't worry about me or anything, just got a concussion here." I said as I got up from the floor, brushing off my ugly uniform and trying to regain my dignity. Ooooouchy, my head hurts a lot. I put my hand on my forehead before pulling it away, revealing a red line from the blood on my forehead. BLOOD! I WAS BLEEDING!? I started getting dizzy; I hate the sight of blood. Where's a band-aid when you need one?
I tried to ignore the feeling of the blood on my forehead, and started searching for a first-aid kit.
Ah-ha! I finally found one underneath the counter. I opened and rifled through the contents, looking for band-aids. I found two boxes: plain old brown ones, and Toy Story ones.
"YES! Woody band-aids!" I said, pulling out a handful of them. I cleaned off the blood on my forehead quickly, without thinking too much about it, and stuck band-aid on.
"That's a good look for you." Audrina teased from behind, making me a few feet into the air. It's a wonder I didn't crash into the ceiling!
"SINCE WHEN CAN YOU TELEPORT!? Last time I checked, best friends told each other these kinds of things. Share your magic with me, oh Kindly One?" I said with a huge smile. Bring on the powers!
"Sorry, you're not a redhead. Only we have these kinds of powers!" she said, laughing and winking at me.
I was just about to give what I hoped was a witty response, when a huge crash sounded at the front of the shop. We both turned in time to see five soaked boys stumbling in the door, bringing a blast of cold air and wind with them. In the dark behind them, I could see the storm was getting worse, the snow starting to pile up in huge drifts. Guess I'll have to snowshoe to Audi's tonight.
Beside me, Drina was wide eyed, mouth hanging open. What in the world?
I looked back the boys deciding to get a better look. The one closest to me was blond, with bright, clear blue eyes that reminded me of a warm summer's day. The one beside him had dark hair, brown eyes, and an ear piercing. He smiled softly at me when I looked at him. I smiled back, liking him already.
The one behind him had a shaved haircut, and warm brown eyes. He looked like he had muscles under his thin jacket. Dayum!
The next one had messy brown hair and blue/grey eyes. He was jumping up and down, probably trying to get warm? I wasn't sure though, as he had quite and odd look on his face; a mix between laughing and staring creepily.
The last one had brown curly had and amazing green eyes. When they met mine a shock went through me. They seemed so familiar!
The fact that all five of them had dripping wet hair, red faces, and were shivering was probably what prevented me from recognizing them before, but all of a sudden, I had it.
My eyes widened as I realized who they were. My palms started getting sweaty and for once I was at a loss for words.
One Direction were in Tim Horton's.
What is going on?
