Chapter 4

Joonghyuk followed you with his eyes when you walked past him. It's been 5 days since your last talk with him which is by the way, since your first day of examinations. You were frustrated. You can't even remember if you did well with your exams because as far as you can remember, all you remembered was Joonghyuk occupying your mind the entire day, up until now. 

Of course, Sangah also noticed how you're ignoring him. It's been a few days since the results showed up and you didn't even compare your score, which was the normal thing you'd do. 

"Are you guys really okay?" Sangah asked, her head turned to look back at Joonghyuk who was still looking at you at their table. 

You snapped out of your thoughts by Sangah's question. "Of course, why wouldn't we be?"

Sangah snapped her head in your direction and gave you a sarcastic smile. "Are you really answering me that way? You've been acting unusual for days!"

You looked away and start ordering your food. Of course, who wouldn't act unusual? Joonghyuk just indirectly telling you that he likes you! Wouldn't that be a stranger? And the reason why you're ignoring him is because you're the one who got embarrassed by his words. It looks like he was just keeping everything all this time. 

You were about to ask Sangah where you would sit when she suddenly pulled you, and your eyes widened when you walked toward their table. You tapped Sangah's arm when you were already nearing their table. 

"No can do, Y/n. Stop ignoring him and talk to him." She said. She was also the one who pushed you down beside Joonghyuk's seat. You were speechless as you watched her murmur something on Kim Dokja's ear. 

The man suddenly stands up. "Oh, I forgot something in my bag. I'll leave you two here for a while." He said with a sly smile. 

Fuckers.

Sangah turned her back on you which made you call her name. 

"I also forgot something. I'll be back." She spoke the last sentence slowly. 

Why are you doing this to me?

As you watch the two left the cafeteria, you can also feel Joonghyuk's stare on your right side. 

"Y/n." You slightly jumped in your seat when you heard his voice. 

"What?" You respond, maintaining your cool when in fact you just want to scream because you're feeling butterflies in your stomach by him just calling you by your name. 

"I'm sorry." 

"For what?"

"For what I said five days ago."

You swallowed the lump in your throat. "So you don't mean everything you said?" You should feel relieved if he does but on the contrary, your heart aches. 

"No." He said. "I meant everything I said. Every word." He continued. I slowly look at him, and how he stares at me made my heart flutter. 

Has he been looking at me this way before? How did I fail to notice everything?

"Do you like me?" You asked out of the blue. 

"Y/n." Joonghyuk's voice sounds frustrated. 

"What?"

"I don't want you to go ignoring me again." 

"I didn't mean to ignore you. I was just.."

"You're surprised. I get it. I was just frustrated that time, I'm sorry."

Silence filled the air but it doesn't feel awkward. 

"So.. you like me?"

He chuckled. "Since you threw that huge rock on my back."

Your mouth goes wide open as your turn to face him again. "That was like.. when we were 7 years old!"

He nodded. "I thought it was just a brother feeling but it turns out, it was more than that."

"Wow.." That was all you can say.

Your brows furrowed. How about how you feel? Do you like him?

"I know what's going through that head of yours." Joonghyuk flicked your forehead and you glared at him. "We can work with that."

"Work with what?" You asked. 

"Let me court you."

You blinked fast. "What?"
