Chapter 9

As the two beys clashed into each other headfirst, an explosion sounded as a bright spark shone, blinding the two Bladers for a split moment before dying out. The two beys then went in the opposite directions and clashed once again, throwing each other back with a great force.

"Huh, finally. An opponent worthy for L-Drago." Doji commented as he watched the battle go down through the screen behind him, "however, we can't say that for sure until the bey draws out its full power."

He took a sip from his orange juice and continued watching.

Thunder rumbled once again as the dark clouds spread out across the sky, the mighty wind picking up its pace.

"Well, well! Look at you running around like a little mouse. I must say, however, I was waiting for a long time for an opponent worthy for L-Drago." Ryuga commented rather thrilled.

"You see, Ryuga. You aren't the only one who possesses a great bey and power. I'd say, it's all thanks to my training that I was able to bond with this bey rather quickly." Zukira replied with a grin.

"Rather quickly you say?"

Zukira shot him a death glare and clenched her jaw.

Is he doing this on purpose? Why is this guy so eager to rat me out?!

"Why so mad? Don't tell me you're gonna run off like the little coward you are." Ryuga smirked.

Calm down, Zukira, calm down. He's trying to make you mad on purpose, after all, she eyed Blazer who was running after L-Drago, L-Drago does feed off of negative energy.

"Tsk, please, Ryuga. If I really was a coward, I would've run away before the battle even started!" Zukira swung her arm.

Blazer picked up its speed and clashed head on into L-Drago.

"I see now, you're also trying to pull the same stunt as Gingka Hagane now, aren't you? Why don't you come up with something original? L-DRAGO!" Ryuga swung his arm.

L-Drago aimed for Blazer and then came a barrage of attacks which took Zukira by surprise.

Not good, not good! I need to do something fast.

"HANG IN THERE, BLAZER!"

Blazer went in the opposite direction and struck L-Drago from behind, creating another explosion which made a huge gust of wind rise.

Zukira staggered a bit, but she regained her balance and caught her breath. She looked behind her, down at the threatening ocean.

That was close, really close. I need to keep my composure and try not to get knocked over the edge.

"Distracted now, are we? I'd say, THAT'S A PRETTY BAD MOVE!"

L-Drago made its way to the other bey, hitting it with a powerful push and sending it towards the air.

Zukira felt her heart leap till her throat.

"BLAZER!"

Blazer hit the stadium floor and regained its balance, ultimately spinning like it was before. Zukira took a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat off her forehead.

I need to use the weather conditions and the height we're battling at to Blazer's advantage, but how?

"Worried about that little bey of yours? Don't worry," Ryuga sneered, "that guy's all mine."
