"Yoongi oppa, will we be together forever?" A little girl asked.
Two children sat facing each other, cross-legged on the ground. They were in a small thicket of trees with a sunlit river glittering through the trunks. The shadow cast by the trees makes a basin of cool, green shade.
"Always." The boy replied.
There was a little silence. The little girl picked up a fallen twig and twirled it in the air, imagining sparks trailing from it like a fairy wand. "Do you believe in magic?" She whispered.
"Why?" He asked.
"Look!" She exclaimed and glanced around. The forest was deserted apart from them. She picked up a fallen flower from the bush behind them and waited until the boy was near enough to have a clear view, then held out her palm. The flower sat there, opening and closing it's petals like some bizarre, many-lipped oyster.
The little boy was watching with his mouth open, evidently torn between curiosity and shock. "How'd you do that?" He asked and tried with another flower as she giggled.
"I realized I could do stuff like that since I was really young," She said.
There was silence again, as the two young children lay down on the grass with hands locked together, peering at the sun setting in the horizon. "Always." The girl said and squeezed the boy's hand.
That night, as they set home together, the girl saw two figures wearing weird robes standing at her lawn, her aunt looking flustered. She had been staying with her aunt since birth as her parents had died in an accident. As she neared her house, the figures turned around and ran to hug her. She realized the tall woman has the same dark brown eyes of hers.
"Daeyoung, I have something to tell you, this are your parents. They've come to bring you home." Her aunt said.
"Have you realized you can do magic? Don't worry there's nothing wrong with you, because you are a witch." The man who was supposed to be her dad beamed and said. The girl's hand held on tightly to the boy's, not saying a word.
"But...you are dead," She whispered.
" Let's go home. We'll explain everything when we are there." The lady said calmly.
"You freaks will not take her away." The little boy said fiercely and held on tighter to her hand.
"Fine, we'll have to do it the hard way. We will be going via Portkey. It might be a little uncomfortable but bear with us." The woman said again and started to pry her away from her friend, her best friend.
"No. NO Yoongi!!" She yelled as her fingers came in touch with a silver hairbrush and darkness swept over her.
