Chapter 2 | The Start of year Feast

The train station at Hogsmeade is bustling with life as we made our way out. The year ones looked nervous and lost as usual, while the seniors climbed aboard the horseless carriages. We picked the one nearest to us.

"Can we sit with you?" A boy with ash grey hair came over with his friends. He was Kim Mingyu, a good friend in the same year and house. Alongside him was Wonwoo, a Slytherin and Hoshi who is a Hufflepuff.

"The other carriages got filled up real quick," Wonwoo added. I nodded and they climbed in, although it was a little squeeze.

"Hey, Chanyeol! I heard you are the new captain of the Quidditch team. I'm planning on trying out for the Hufflepuff team this year." Hoshi said.

"Why not? We all are anyway. Come on Chanyeol, just let us in since we are your friends." Baekhyun playfully said as he stuffed himself with leftover chocolate frogs.

"Nope. No matter how good you are, you gotta follow the rules and try out. I'll put up the notice for tryouts soon." Chanyeol said.

"You sound like a Ravenclaw. Since when did we follow the rules?" Taehyung said. We all laughed in agreement while Chanyeol's face flushed red.

It began to rain as the 'horses' took off. The rain pelted down as we rose higher and higher.

"Bloody rain," Baekhyun said as he took out his wand to warm himself. It was late September and the weather is cold and I shivered a little.

"Here," Taehyung said as he took off his robes and put them over my shoulders, instantly giving me warmth. I raised my eyebrow.

"Its okay Tae, aren't you cold then?" I asked and took it off.

"I'm fine," he said as he took out his own blackthorn wand to warm himself with the spell. The wand emitted hot air.

"Thanks Tae." I replied and smiled.

"Get a room you lovebirds!" Mingyu yelled and made a face. I kicked him hard in the shin.

We arrived at the gates of Hogwarts and our house professor in charge, Professor Cha Hakyeon (N from Vixx) led us in. He walked down a corridor to a set of great brown doors that let to the Great Hall.

The four house tables stood majestically in the middle and were laid with glittering golden plates and goblets. At the top of the Hall was another long table where the teachers sat. The hall was lit by thousands and thousands of candles which were floating in mid air and the ceiling was bewitched to look like the velvety night sky dotted with stars. It was still pouring.

I said goodbye to Hoshi, Chanyeol and Baekhyun and went to the Slytherin table with the rest. I slid in beside my dorm mate, Park Subin, who is a year five prefect.

The year ones entered and got sorted. We had quite a few new Slytherins this year and we cheered as each one walked over to join us. Headmaster Don, (Jeong Hyeong Don from Weekly Idol) gave the usual speech and before long, the feast started and food magically appeared on the table.

"Oh yeah, I'm going to pass this to Sehyun." I said and stood up. She's my family friend and we are quite close. I walked over to the Ravenclaw table clutching the gift I brought over the summer. I saw her familiar brown hair and waved. She waved back...

"Hey watch it!"

Thid was the last words I heard before losing my balance and falling face down into the cold, hard stone floor. The gift fell out onto the ground with a smash.

Silence fell as conversations ceased. Waves of laughter could be heard from behind me.

I looked up, red in the face and saw someone's shoe sticking out where I fell. Some idiot tripped me. By this time, I could feel the whole Ravenclaw table was looking at me. I cursed under my breath.
