Eleanor Ellie Bishop won't exist in this story just so everyone is aware, no hate to her but for plot reasons that wouldn't make sense
Sofía isn't a character I own in fact I own none of the NCIS characters but I just thought it would be an interesting story
For those who don't know Sofía was a character who played Nick's first love who died of cancer however I wanted to put a twist on that story line
2016
Sofía's POV
I was busy as it was early in the morning
I had to rush my kids to school as I woke up late again, I keep having nightmares which is great because I'm a full grown woman having nightmares
I got to work as soon as possible "Gutierrez Your Late" Gibbs said "sorry Gibbs I was having some technical issues" I said giving an apology
McGee gave me a look I didn't say anything as I knew now wasn't the time
"What you got?" Gibbs asked
"Nick Torres" McGee said pulling up the name on the screen
My heart stopped at the sight of him
Me and him have a history, a heavy hearted history
He was my best friend and then we became high school sweet hearts then things got complicated as I ended up diagnosed with cancer
But things happened and he believes I'm dead because my own parents believed I was dead for a few years until I escaped
And then I joined NCIS well I joined NCIS right before I got kidnapped so 14 years ago now... Damn I'm old
Then all the other words McGee had said started clicking in my head
"Lucia Campbell's younger brother and an NCIS agent"
"I don't know him" Gibbs said honestly
"His name probably didn't register at first as he is more than likely a deep cover agent, their identities and records are always going to be sealed by the director" I said figuring out what Nick had more than likely been up to for the last 14 years since I left or shall I say "died"
"How'd we find out he was an agent?" Gibbs asked
"Cause I recognized him, I trained him 8 years ago when he joined with the agency, never forget a student, I'm not surprised he ended up in undercover. He was unattached, he was persuasive, he was clever, a bit unstable" Quinn said
I hadn't realized that it was Lucia's case that we were working on as it has been too long since I last saw her she didn't register in my head anymore because the last time I saw her was Christmas 2001
"You just described a sociopath" I said honestly laughing "yeah but only the good kind" Quinn replied, there is no good kind of sociopath unless their hot
"Where is Torres now?" Gibbs asked McGee
"Vanished 6 months ago while on assignment. After her younger brother was presumed dead, Lucia wanted answers; she hired a private investigator" He responded and added "according to the emails found on her home computer, the P. I. followed the trail to Buenos Aires Argentina and sent her this surveillance photo" which popped up on the screen
He didn't look bad for 32 almost 33
"Gibbs this image is recent, Agent Torres is alive" I said horrified knowing that I'm going to have to face the man I once loved and still do
A few days later
We got a lead on where he was and had to make sure we got there before he could vanish again
They were accusing him of switching sides and trying to kill his sister, I wanted nothing more than to say he would never but I didn't want to blow my cover just yet
I hid with Gibbs and then came out when he was about to possibly be shot
"NCIS!" We pulled out our guns and shot one of the guys the other one was down but not dead yet
Nick turned around and Gibbs pulled his gun up to point it at his head
He then swiftly but quickly knocked the other guy unconscious
His eyes ran over Gibbs before they came to me, and his cold expression changed completely
"Sofía?" He said trying to figure out if his eyes we're deceiving him
My heart was pounding like a kick drum, things he could do to me without even trying
Gibbs looked in between the both of us, Nick knew it was me and I didn't have anything to say to him
What was I supposed to say?
"Nicholas, glad to know you aren't stupid enough to be killed anyone else but me" I said sarcastically finally finding the confidence to speak, he was giving me looks
"Relax, We're on the same side" He said to Gibbs "are we?" Gibbs answered
The sirens started blaring and the scene ends here
