"Are you even listening to me, Des?"

My best friend asked me with the usual irritation in her voice.

"Yah! Jason and Lizzie fought a bit." I said with an obvious shrug and lifted the very long French fry and twirled it in my hand.

"Ugrh! Start paying a little more attention to what I say, Des," she said and slammed her hand on the wooden table in the cafe. A few people looked our way, but smiled when they saw us. We were regulars over here and so were the rest of the people.

I shrugged again and continued to play with my beautiful French fry.

"Just put the damn fry in your mouth already." She said while shoving the pretty yellow thing in my mouth.

"Jess!" I whined like a baby, "I was admiring the gorgeous fry. Why do you always do this to me?"

I decided to ignore her and started to stare at the ceiling of the café. The warm atmosphere combined with the fresh smell of vanilla, somehow manage to block the annoying chatter of the man next to us.

Jessica sighed and said, "Des, stop being such a baby. It's a wonderful Sunday morning and I want to share the most happening things with you, and here you are fussing over a goddamn fry."

I scoffed and said, "You do know that a French fry is as close as I would get to love."

Jess just laughed, while sipping from her cup of latte and her anger dissolved within seconds.

"Anyways," she cleared her throat to speak, "Jason and Lizzie are on the verge of breaking up." Her blue eyes bored into my green ones. Clearly showing how much she cared about Lizzie.

"Tell me something new," I said while smearing the chilli sauce over my French fries.

"They break up and patch up as frequent as I come here for my plate of fries. They'll get over it." I continued.

"But they are so cute together and Lizzie is our best friend. It's clear that she is in love with him, but is too scared to admit it. I wish I could cast some magic spell on them." Jess sighed and ran her hand through her perfect blonde hair.

"JJ, magic spells don't exist." I said and ate my last perfect fry.

"D, few years ago even mobile phones didn't exist." Jess tried to mock me.

"Those are two completely different things, J." I rolled my eyes at her foolishness.

She might be my best friend and also the prettier one among the three of us, but clearly she wasn't the smartest of the lot. But her perfect features made up for it. She was 17, but was currently modelling for three huge agencies.

"Okay, Ms. Einstein," she said, while paying the waitress who gave us a weird smile.

I chuckled as I saw Jess making a funny face at me.

"Oh shoot! I am late for my session." Jess said while reading a message on her phone.

She bent a bit, due to my short height, and hugged me tightly.

"Bye Destiny," she said while giving me the high class air kisses, "I'll see you tomorrow in the hellhole."

"Bye-bye Elizabeth." I shouted as I saw her walk away.

"Don't call me that," she said and laughed.

She turned around and started to run in her 5 inch heels. According to me, she didn't need those as she was already a giant, but she always laughed and said that her feet were too classy to not be in the presence of Jimmy Choos.
