(Okayu) Japanese rice porridge

Ingredients

80g sushi rice or short grain rice

700ml water

1-2 tbsp miso paste

Pinch of salt 

Directions

Wash your rice until water becomes almost clear. Put rice and water in a pot. Cook on a medium heat.

When it boils, stir a few times and reduce heat to low. partially cover with a lid and cook on low foe 30 - 40 minutes.

In the last 5 - 10 minutes, add miso paste and mix slowly until miso paste is disolved.

When dissolved turn of heat and serve.
