It had been the busiest past couple of days for the idol and quite possibly the saddest. He thought that maybe this could even be the downfall of his career."What am I going to do!?" Wooyoung was panicking. "How am I going to live like this? How am I supposed to go on?" The black haired boy cried out.
"Everything is going to be okay Wooyoung." An equally as melancholy voice spoke out. "They're gonna find out who did this and they're going to put them away for good." The voice said.
Wooyoung didn't believe that anything was alright at all. The worst day of his life had just come through like a tornado and left an indescribable mess that wasn't able to ever be cleared.
"We'll go on hiatus for as long as you need. I'm always here for you, you know that." The same voice from earlier spoke.
"Thank you, Yunho." Wooyoung spoke through sobs.
Yunho held Wooyoung as he cried in waves of dread and sadness. It hurt Yunho to see his best friend of four years in shambles but he was just as hurt as Wooyoung was.
"Should I call Hongjoong?" Yunho broke the silence for a second.
"Would you?" Wooyoung looked at Yunho teary eyed.
"Yes Wooyoung, I'll call him. It's gonna be okay." Yunho repeated for the almost 15th time that day as if he was trying to convince himself. He got his phone out and clicked on Hongjoong's contact.
"Hello?" Yunho put it on speaker phone.
"Hey guys, I'm on my way. How are you holding up?" Wooyoung sobbed at the question.
He missed his manager Hongjoong more than anything. He just wanted to feel like everything was normal again and that all of this was just a dream.
"Its hard Hongjoong. How could something like this happen to someone so precious?" Yunho answered for the both of them.
"I know its hard. It's terrifying and sad and crazy and I just don't even know what to say about it." Hongjoong said, not really knowing how to express his words without making it seem like he didn't know how to process trauma.
"I'm here." Hongjoong said.
"Alright i'll open the door."
Hongjoong got one foot in the door before Wooyoung would run and embrace him as if he was going to disappear.
"Never leave me again!" Wooyoung cried into Hongjoong's shoulder. Hongjoong returned the embrace with a comforting pat on Wooyoung's back.
"I'm sorry but I'm back now." Hongjoong could feel tears welling up in his own eyes before he slightly loosened the hug to see Wooyoung's face.
He wiped the tears falling from his left eye and then the ones coming from his right hoping to slow his weeping.
He eventually let Wooyoung go to take Yunho into an embrace. "I'm so glad you're back." Yunho cried as well.
The men took a seat on the sofa in the broad dark living area of Wooyoung's home. All cuddled up together, they sat in silence and pondered.
Yunho called in food, though not a single soul in the room had the stomach to eat at the moment.
A knock at the door startled the boys. "That must be the food." Yunho said as he made his way towards the door. As he opened the door, he was surprised to see two very sophisticated looking men in his sight.
"Hello, I'm Detective Choi with Seoul Police Department and this is my partner Detective Park with Busan Police Department. We were hoping to have a word with Jung Wooyoung, Jeong Yunho, and Kim Hongjoong." one of the men said.
"Um, yes, just a second please.." Yunho left the door open and rushed to the living room.
"They're here already." Yunho spoke out.
"The detectives?" Wooyoung questioned.
"Yes. They want to speak with all of us." The three men made their way to the door.
At the door Wooyoung caught a glimpse of two extremely handsome men.
"You guys can follow us, we'll drive you to the station." Seonghwa said as he started to walk.
Wooyoung eyed these men liked he had never seen men in his life before. One man in specific kept his attention.
The car ride was silent as the boys were there under such unfortunate circumstances.
Wooyoung looked out the window and watched as the stars in the sky traveled backwards slowly while the cars on the pavement flew by in the blink of an eye. He started to tear up at the thought of everything happening to him so suddenly.
He felt a comforting pat on his thigh as he looked to his left to see Hongjoong giving him a warm yet melancholy smile.
"Everything's gonna be alright, Woo." Hongjoong chose his words.
"Okay everyone, we're here." Seonghwa stated. The men made their way into the department and took a seat in the lobby.
"Yunho, you'll be first. Follow us please." San said accidentally locking eyes with the boy that he had just looked up the night before. The three men walked to the interrogation room.
"We have some questions to ask you while you're here. Nothing too crazy, don't be nervous. We know this is an extremely difficult time for you so take the time you need to answer." San spoke to Yunho as he and Seonghwa sat in front of them. Yunho nodded as he took a sip out of the cup of water provided for him.
"Alright, we'll start by asking where where you on the night October 23?" Seonghwa started.
Yunho had been with Wooyoung for the past week everyday. They were working on lyrics as they always did together until on the 23rd they heard the news. Yunho vowed to not leave Wooyoung in their time of mourning.
The interview went smoothly with Yunho answering everything swiftly. Out of all of the boys, his interview would go the fastest.
"Hongjoong, you're up next." Seonghwa announced as he led him into the room. The men gave the same rundown as before and started their interview.
Hongjoong had been on a business trip for 2 days before he heard the news. He'd booked the first flight he could catch home immediately.
Hongjoong's interview had also went smoothly. Everything seemed to line up with Yunho's version of events.
Last was Wooyoung. "Wooyoung, you're last. Follow me please." Seonghwa followed as Wooyoung walked in front of him.
As Wooyoung entered the room, he met eyes with the man he'd been looking at before. San returned a small stare before clearing his throat. Wooyoung knew that these men knew who he was but he wasn't sure if that really mattered to them.
"How are you doing?" San asked, concerned by the younger's puffy face.
"Words could never explain." Wooyoung responded. Wooyoung couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort around this certain man, like he was there only to protect him.
Both detectives questioned the younger male. Wooyoung told them that he'd been with Yunho for a week while working on lyrics.
Everything lined up. Not a single person seemed suspicious yet. In fact, they seemed devastated for the death of their dear, beloved, Jung Jongho.
