It was a fine sunny day but some of the students were either busy or away on a mission. And those who were free, just goofed around or sulked alone... Like our dear izumi was doing.
Nanami and Yu were sent on a mission together. And that lead to her being alone under a tree.
They were on the training grounds where Shoko was trying to balance on a log that was lying there. It sort of looked as if there was a competition on who was more balanced between Shoko and Utahime.
"What are you doing sitting alone?" Izumi looked up to fine Geto looking down at her.
"Absolutely nothing Geto senpai. Does watching the balance competition count?"
He just chuckled and asked if he could sit with her. Izumi patted the space beside her indicating he could.
On the outside she was calm and collected but on the inside she was screaming with anticipation and there wasn't anyone to help her calm down. Little did she know, that the guy himself was feeling the same but the difference was that he was happy.
Not always can you find Himura Izumi by herself without her bodyguards.
"Geto senpai, did you not get any mission today.Otherwise you'd be with Gojo senpai right?"she asked looking at the girls, shoko was trying to make utahime fall.
" Aah i see..you are that happy to send me off?" He playfully asked leaning on the tree. Their shoulders touching.
"W-what no! I mean.. That sounded better in my head. But you know what I meant righ-" She turned her head to see that he was staring at her with an amused smile. And she playfully smacked his arm, but that was a bad idea. It hurt.
"You were just messing with me and now my hands hurt"
"Well i didn't ask you to smack me, now did i?" He softly chuckled taking her hand in his." May i?"
"Huh I-it's alright.. I was only exaggerating" she tried to stop her flipping stomach but didn't take her hand away.
"Mhm you were hurt because of me right. What kind of a senpai will i be, if i didn't take care of my kohai's" He rubbed her small fingers with his thumb slowly.
She looked at him and their eyes locked. There was a change in atmosphere between them that the both of them couldn't deny. Izumi shyly looked away after what felt like hours but it was only a few seconds.
No one could blame her. Sitting beside eachother holding hands with handsome guy who looked at her with an unspoken passion made the butterflies in her stomach flutter.
After a few seconds Geto looked away from the blushing girl,not to make her uncomfortable.
Beating of hearts can be heard as the two teenagers took small tentative steps towards a section that was new to both of them.
They were silent for a while, neither wanting to let go of the tiny moment.
"Oii Himura!! Wanna try?" Both hands scrambled to their sides as they heard shoko calling. "Oi Geto when did you get there"
The two of them walked towards the girls. " I've been here for a while. I'm not surprised you didn't notice. Good morning Utahime senpai"Geto shook his head and greeted her.
"Wahh why can't that idiot learn something from you. One should be polite to their elders" Utahime said looking at Geto and he just shrugged.
Somewhere in other side of japan a teenager with white hair sneezed.'huhh'
"Is this the log u were playing with?" izumi said as she was trying to stand on it.
"Yes, why don't you try moving with it" Utahime gave her the idea that she was trying to do.
"Huhh that's a bit hard senpai. Can you show me a demo?" Izumi got down the log for Utahime to climb.
"Give your best senpai and don't fall again!" Shoko hyped as she was
Carefully rolling the log.
On getting the hang of it, Utahime started tracing a small irregular circle but the speed got slightly out of hand and she was out of controll.
"Senpaii turn your wheels!! Stop coming after me!! Izumi yelled as she was running for her life.
" DO YOU THINK IT'S IN MY HANDS!! And stop running in front of me!!". "Senpai! jump at the right moment" shoko called out to her.
Geto was so done with them but he was used to this. He sighed as he went ahead and pulled izumi to his side,her nails slightly grazing his arm and quickly caught utahime from smashing into the tree they sat under earlier.
"I think that's enough for today. And i didn't even do anything " Izumi sighed as she realised how she ran like an idiot in front of Geto.
"Yeahh let's get some drinks from the vending machine" The two girls walked ahead and they all headed inside the building.
"Geto senpai" Izumi walked over to him as he watched her slightly fidgeting with her hands on the sides."What is it Himura-san?"
"I'm just here to say thank you for helping me just now" She looked at him with a soft smile that was enough make his heart flutter.
"It was the bare minimum Himura-san. You don't need to thank me for that" he smiled back.
"It's not that bad to appreciate small acts too you know. It makes people happy. Are you not?"
He chuckled at how adorable she looked saying that."I am. And it's good that you think like that. We can balance each other".
Even though he said it so casually, it made the corners of her mouth upwards.

It was later in the evening, when Gojo Satoru came back from his mission. And as always he bought sweets.
Poor Utahime was being teased by him as he lied that he didn't bring any for her.
Izumi got bored as her friends weren't with her. So she walked along the hallway and sat down.
After a while she felt a presence beside her. Geto sat next to her looking ahead.
"Senpai what are doing here?" she looked at him and found him staring at the sky.
"I just went for a walk and saw you sitting here." His eyes found her's and again like magnets, they were drawn to eachother.
Izumi saw a reddish line on his hand and remembered the pain she had felt on her nails as they had bent earlier somewhere.
Her eyes widen on realisation and quickly apologized. "I'm so sorry. I should have had them cut. I can heal them for you" She said with hopeful eyes.
"It's nothing, really. we always get hurt worse than this" He was nonchalant about it.
She just took his hand without a word and placed her fingers on the scratch.
His eyes widened as he felt the flow of energy in his body. But it was different, it wasn't reversed curse technique.
"Wow.. Thank you..that was different" He said feeling refreshed.
"It's an ability passed down my family from generations although it has its limit" She looked at him and he nodded. Just then they realized how close they were to each other.
He whispered something under his breath and tucked a free strand of hair behind her ear but his hands lingered.
Her breath hitched at their proximity. He has never initiated something like this. Of course she felt those fleeting glances her way but this was so different....
"GUESS WHO'S BACK!!"
