Chapter 5

Bell rang announcing the start of lunch break and everyone rushed to their friends with bento (packed lunches are called bento in Japanese.) Y/n and Itachi stood up to go to their usual spot to eat their lunch.

Hana turned her head towards them, calling out, “Y/n-chan, Itachi-kun would you like to eat lunch with me?”

Y/n looked at her with a smile. “Sure! What about you Tachi?,” Y/n asked glancing at her twin.

Itachi nodded, “I don’t mind. Let’s go sit on bench outside.”

The trio went and sat on one of the empty benches. “Y/n-chan do you like dogs?,” Hana asked as they started eating their lunch.

“Yes. I love dogs! How do you know?,” Y/n asked looking surprised.

“I saw you following a dog around the park but it kept running away from you,” Hana giggled.

Y/n flushed red with embarrassment. “W-Wait! Really?! I thought no one was around!,” she exclaimed.

“Hehe. Do you want to know how to get dogs to like you?,” Hana raised her eyebrow.

“Yes!,” Y/n nodded her head furiously, looking excited.

On weekend...
Y/n and Itachi walked towards the park to meet up with Hana. Y/n looked excited while Itachi had his usual expression. “Tachi! Look a little excited at least!,” Y/n whined looking at him.

Itachi sighed as his twin bugged him at least for the thirtieth time since this morning. “Can you stop it already? You’re  just way too excited to play with pups,” Itachi said.

“But..! But..! We are talking about small puppies! So small and cute!,” Y/n squeaked looking star eyed.

Before Itachi could say anything though a cheerful shout was heard, “Y/n-chan! Itachi-kun!”

The twins turned towards the voice to find Hana waving at them. “Hana-chan!,” Y/n greeted her as Itachi nodded in acknowledgement.

“Let’s go to my place then,” Hana said and Y/n nodded.

The trio walked to the Inuzuka residence. ‘This is my house. Come on in,” Hana gestured opening the door to the house.

Walking in the twins removed their sandals placing them neatly together, just as a woman with wild looking hair came out. “Oh. These are the kids you were talking about!,” the woman said.

“Hello kids! I am Tsume Inuzuka, Hana’s mother. You two look so alike even for twins it difficult to tell one of you is a girl!,” she introduced herself.

“Hello. I am Itachi Uchiha, the older twin,” Itachi introduced.

“I am Y/n Uchiha, the younger twin. It’s nice to meet you,” Y/n greeted as they bowed.

“You both are good kids! I hope you will be good friends with my Hana!,” Tsume said.

“Yes,” Y/n replied. Little barks were heard into the distance and light footsteps were heard as three pup came running into view.

“So cute,” Y/n squeaked as the pups surrounded Hana and jumped at her feet each trying to get her attention.

Hana laughed as she walked in calling out,” Come on. Let's go to the backyard and play with them.”

The twins followed her and Hana introduced her pups once they were in the backyard. “Y/n-chan first you have to hold out your hand like this and let them sniff it,” Hana said holding out her hand in demonstration.

Y/n copied her and held her hand out towards the pups low enough for them to sniff with palm facing the ground. The pups looked curious and sniffed her hand before giving it a lick or barking, making her giggle with delight.

Y/n looked at Itachi and Hana with a big smile to find Itachi smiling at her with a soft look. Hana returned Y/n’s smile, “Now you can try to pet them.”

Y/n did as told and it didn't take long before the pups were barking and nudging Y/n to pet them. Hana joined in and Y/n made Itachi join in as well.

The trio played with the triplets, patting them and running around, having a great time together. This was the beginning of the beautiful friendship that was yet to bloom between Y/n and Hana.

As the afternoon sun blazed over two kids ventured into the forest and practiced their weapon techniques. There were targets placed on various places around them and they practiced throwing shuriken and kunai in mid-air.

“Hey you two,” a voice called out as a person came into view.

“Hello Shisui-san,” Itachi bowed in greeting.

“Shisui-san! Are you here for practice too?,” Y/n asked.

“Yes. I was planning to raise the difficulty of our practices, its’s been a while since we met after all,” Shisui said.

“Yes! Let’s do it!,” Y/n cheered, making Shisui laugh.

After raising the difficulty of their practice, the trio trained until sun down. “Ah~ It feels so nice to do something more challenging. I was starting to get bored,” Y/n said.

“Y/n, basics and practice are important,” Itachi commented.

“But still! We already have the basics down! I can even answer any questions related to basics in my sleep. It’s boring!,” Y/n replied.

“That’s true. In a few months you both have gotten really good with your weapons,” Shisui said.

“Hey! It’s not like we were bad at them when we first met!,” Y/n pointed out.

“True,” Shisui chuckled.

“Shisui-san met us went we were training here before Sasuke was born. We had more time to practice then,” Itachi reminisced.

~ Flashback ~

Y/n and Itachi were practicing with kunai knives. They were following a new patterned they had established a few days ago. Itachi threw kunai at the targets while Y/n threw kunai to repel the attack.

Y/n threw kunai to change the trajectory of the knives Itachi threw and made them land into different targets from which they were going to. Itachi and Y/n took turns to try and change the trajectory of kunais.

It was just another practice for them and Y/n’s aim had hit it’s mark when a clapping sound was heard and a figure appeared. The twins watched the boy who didn’t look much older than them approach.

“That was really great,” he said with a smile.

“Who are you?,” the twins asked in sync.

“Hello! I am Shisui Uchiha!,” the boy introduced.

“Hello. I am Itachi and this is my little sister Y/n,” Itachi introduced gesturing towards himself first and then at his twin.

“Hello! It’s nice to meet you!,” Y/n smiled.

“I had heard about you but wow! You really look alike! It will be difficult to know who is who,” Shisui said.

“Why? It’s easy. The brooding and blank faced is Tachi! And Y/n is... Y/n!,” Y/n replied.

“That’s true. Once you talk, it’s easier to tell who is who,” Shisui laughed.

“So what did you need from us Shisui-san?,” Itachi asked.

“I would like to practice with the two of you, if you don’t mind,” Shisui replied.

“Of course! I hope you can teach us something new as well!,” Y/n replied and Itachi nodded.

~ End of Flashback ~

“I had known about the clan leader's twins from my mother that you had been to the battlefield and wanted to meet you,” Shisui said.

“I see. So that’s why. Well whatever the reason I’m glad we met,” Y/n smiled at him and he blushed slightly.

“I am glad too. I got to know more about you and your dreams,” Shisui said.

“See you tomorrow Shisui-san,” Itachi said, receiving a nod. As the trio reached a certain corner in the Uchiha Compound, they parted ways and went home.

Itachi & Y/n: You forgot about us again!
Author-chan: Hehe. I did.
Y/n: How can you forget about us again?!
Author-chan: Because I have other things to stress about? Like the upcoming exams in a few weeks?
Itachi: So you'll not come again for a while?
Author-chan: Good question. But good for you cause I plan to come back at least once before the exams start.
Y/n: You better! You even forgot Shisui-san!
Author-chan: Not really. I just.. didn't remember properly when you both meet him. But I made up for it, didn't I?
Itachi: * sigh * How come you always forget us all?
Author-chan: * bonking lightly * Teehee.
Y/n: The cute act isn't going to work on us?!
Author-chan: I'll teach you some Japanese words that I know. So make sure you remember that! Bye!
* Author-chan makes a quick escape *
Y/n: Hey! Where are you going?! You run away every time!
