Annabeth's POV:
"Well, this is bad." Frank said.
"Thank you Captain Obvious!" Leo said snarkily.
"Let's get the lights back on, and then call another meeting." Percy suggested, and we all nodded our assent.
We all went to electrical, but I lost track of everyone except Percy and Reyna. I did hear Leo somewhere nearby though.
We reached electrical easily and managed to get the lights back on. However, when the lights turned back on, I did a quick head count, Frank, Leo, Percy, Reyna, Hazel, Piper, Jason, Will, Me, Calypso... Nico and Thalia were missing.
Just then Nico ran in, but still no Thalia. She is one of the more responsible ones of all of us, she wouldn't get lost or turned around easily.
"Everyone split up and find Thalia!" I announced, and everyone set off.
I walked through the halls with Percy. We checked comms, shields, nav, and oxygen, and no sign of her. Then Jason's voice echoed through out the ship.
"DEAD BODY REPORTED IN ADMIN!"
Me and Percy glanced at each other, and then ran to Admin as fast as our legs could carry us.
Thalia's body lay sprawled out on the floor, an expression of pure shock on her face, a knife buried in her chest. Will was kneeling down by the body, examining it, while Piper had her face buried in Jason's chest, her breathing erratic. The rest of the crew stood by, waiting for Will's conclusion.
"Assuming I'm calculating correctly, she died sometime shortly after the lights went out and we all headed for electrical. My guess is whoever killed her, pulled her in here, then stabbed her in the heart. She died almost immediately." Will reported, backing up.
"Does anyone remember what type of alien Chiron said these were?" Frank asked.
"3032" Leo replied.
I went up to the computer. I carefully avoided Thalia's body, trying not to puke. She had been one of my best friends. I typed in the password and opened the files.
I moved aside so everyone could read it. It read,
Alien Type 3032
Other names: Imposters
These aliens look just like regular humans, but there inner anatomy is very different. They come from planet 5890, home to the Polus base. The aliens left about 10 years after we discovered and inhabited it. It is unknown on what planet the aliens currently reside. It is unknown if these aliens have actual emotions or are just really good at faking it. They can pretend to be friends with someone for years, only to brutally stab them in the back, usually literally. They hate humans, and it is unknown why. Their preferred method of killing is to stab the victim in the heart, either through the back or through the front. It is also noted that the aliens will sometimes enter a blood frenzy, as we've come to call it, where they go almost completely beyond rational thought and rely on instincts alone. This frenzy, while only lasting a short period of time, can lead to the deaths of many. The only way to tell when an Imposter is in such a frenzy, is that both their eyes go completely red.
When killing, if a knife is unavailable, they will use other means, such as guns, and if no other option is available, they will use their needle-sharp tongues to stab the victim through the head.
The best way to ensure they are dead, is to eject them into the vast emptiness of space.
"This is worse than I thought. So much worse." Frank said, and everyone nodded their agreement.
