A/N: I WROTE THIS BOOK AWHILE AGO SO DON'T BLAME ME FOR CRINGE!! anyways...

Ell's POV:

"Hello?" I didn't say anything in response, I didn't know what to say or if there was a code word for something.

"Does anyone copy? This is a code red. I repeat. This is a code red. Does anyone copy?" I looked over at the group and then at a bunch of papers on the desk.

"This is Dustin, I repeat, does anyone copy? This is a code red." Dustin? Who's Dustin?

I waited till the group moved on and went back downstairs, then said "hello?"

It was only a second before I heard, "Do you work for the Government or the Russians?"

What.

"No, I'm currently trying to hide from them. Not the Russians, don't know where that came from."

"Oh, I can never be too sure nowadays. I'm Dustin."

"I heard.."

"What's your name?" I took a moment, wondering if you should actually tell him.

"You can call me Ell, everyone does."

"Ell? My friend had the same nickname as you! But for a different reason."

"Oh, lovely..."

"Who named you Ell?"

"Who named you Dustin?" I was being sarcastic when I said this, but he responded with..

"My mom."

This conversation went on for a while before Tim decided to grab the walkie and shout "DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HAWKIN'S LAB AND ALL THE PATIENTS?!"

The walkie turned off after he said that.

I'm gonna kill him. I swear. I'm gonna break all his bones, so he suffers and I'm gonna kill him.

"Sounded like a boring conversation anyways" After he said that I almost punched him in the face. Seriously, he had to screw that up? Couldn't he for once, not think about his ego and stick to the actual job he got assigned?! All he had to do was look for clues! Not ruin everyone else's chance of finding them!

I wish I didn't have to bring him, but I know that if I left him, he'd just go through all my stuff. Before I could do anything though, we heard footsteps. Billy, Sam, and Barbara all rushed upstairs after that. We all hid behind the desk that overlooked the "Nina" machine.

"Anyone here? Children? I know you're hiding, but you can trust me. My name is Dr. Sam Owens." We all looked at each other, I knew we could trust him. I also now know why Papa insisted on my cousin's name being Sam.

Barbara's POV:

Since I was the oldest besides Billy, I got up to do the talking. I slowly got up and walked into the doctor's eyesight. I was standing at the top of a staircase holding onto both on the railings.

Dr. Owens smiled a little and shook his head, "you're just like him."

I suppose Papa and I had stuff in common. Both of us were stubborn, great at dealing with children, cautious, observant, grounded, driven, persistent, strategic thinkers, and more. Although if I really wanted to be him, I'd have to become a doctor and have "patients" or whatever he had.

I slowly walked down the stairs and stood in front of him. "Do you need something?"

"Your parents sent me..they're worried about all of you."

"We're fine, but can I ask you something?" I was really hoping he would answer this and in detail, we could go home if he did.

"Sure, go ahead kid." I don't know why he called me a kid, I was 16. Anyways, here goes nothing.
