"Only if I let you," Barry countered, the tips of bruised fingers' pressed tightly together against the palms of his rip-gloved hands, his left leg shifting backwards slightly in preparation for whatever was about to come next.

I might not have been able to stop him from taking my mother away from me, but I sure as hell am not going to let him take me away from my daughter.

Not ever again.

"Huh, we'll see about that, Flash," Thawne scoffed, red lightning sparking off his form before he sped forward at his hero.

The Flash successfully dodged the first minor blows of his racing enemy, though his defensive maneuvers were far from perfect due to the immense effort it took for him to even stand fully upright on his broken knee. More or less, block The Reverse-Flash's calculated attacks without his own speed advantages. A fact which became evidently clear to his enemy for after only a few seconds, he intentionally redirected a lightning-charged punch down at the hero's lower appendage.

A quiet moan of pain escaped past The Flash's lips as he stumbled backwards several inches, the familiar sensation of warm blood sliding down his golden boots forcing an even tighter sense of tension to pass down his spine.

Ignore it...ignore him...just focus on how much you love them...love her...

"You're getting sloppy. Probably the only thing I didn't teach you, isn't it?" Thawne taunted, his actual voice shrouded completely by his speed-modulated, low monotone one, his words spoken so swiftly that the hero had no time for a response before he charged back into his next attack formation.

One of which was not even in the slightest held back by some form of ignorant compassion like his opponent's would've been for The Man in The Yellow Suit didn't care to deal in such decrepit resolutes.

Something shown clearly in the villain's movements for without even so much as a blink of an eye, Barry already felt his entire body riddled with pain from his advisery's blows, each one seemingly hitting with more preconceived rage than the last until The Flash finally found his every muscle lathered with pain.
