Aleks closes the door behind her and heads towards the cockpit, quickly steering the jet away as the floor begins to give out. She dodges the falling pieces and circles around the ground before she finds a spot to land. She inspects each of the widows for wounds, helping the ones who are.
"Go. You're free, get out of here before the government arrives." She tells them, jumping out of the jet. She waves to them as she backs away, looking around for her family.
"Yelena! Aleks!" She hears Natasha calling. She looks around and spots her running towards something. She sees Yelena as Natasha reaches her and sprints towards her sisters.
"We're both upside down." Yelena is saying as she reaches them.
"If this is what happens when you tell me you're being careful, I don't want to see you being reckless." Aleks teases her twin as she gets up to face them. Natasha grabs both of them, holding their shoulders.
"Forgive me, little sisters." She tells them in Russian as she cries. "I should've come back for you."
"You don't have to say that." Yelena replies.
"It was real to me, too." She says, looking between the twins. They both smile and lean into her hold.
The three press their foreheads together, before pulling each other into a group hug, all of them in tears. Natasha pulls away as she spots Melina and Alexei approaching. They stand and wait for them to reach them, Alexei supporting Melina's weight as she limps.
"Everybody good?" Natasha asks.
"I am clearly injured." Melina replies.
"You got something to say?" She asks.
"I'd just mess it up." Alexei tells her. He holds his hand out and she takes it.
"Here comes the cavalry." Natasha says. She grabs Aleks and pulls her away from the others, pulling the letters from where she'd tucked them away under her suit. She hands Aleks her letter and opens her own. "It's from Barnes." She adds as her sister stares at the letter in her hand.
"James? How did..." She trails off, clutching her letter to her chest, wanting to read it in privacy.
"He found records during his time in hiding. He spent his time searching for you and trying to figure out what happened after he escaped Hydra. He discovered that we were sisters and wrote us both letters to explain everything." She summarizes from her own letter.
"Thank you." Aleks tells her, pulling her into another tight hug. "Do you know where he is?"
"Wakanda." She says, squeezing her shoulders as they pull away. "I'm sure they're expecting you."
"So, what's our plan?" Melina asks as Aleks and Natasha rejoin them.
"You guys go. I'll stay." Natasha answers.
"That's insanity. We fight. We fight with you." Alexei tells her.
"I'll hold them off." She replies.
Alexei, Melina, Yelena, and Aleks begin arguing, telling her that they aren't leaving her.
"You guys, go." She says.
"Oh, my God." Yelena groans.
"Besides, if it can work out with the four of us, you know, there may be some hope for the Avengers. Little bit." She jokes.
"Okay, well, if you're leaving, then I guess you should take this." She says, taking off her vest. "I know how much you like it." She adds as she hands it to Natasha. They laugh as she takes the vest.
