The next morning, Max awoke with a slight headache, but was glad it had calmed down since last night before.

She sat up in bed and rubbed the sleepiness out of her eyes before groaning and lifting the blankets off her lap. The cold morning air was almost enough to convince her to stay in bed and warm up again, but she decided against it as she stood up and headed to her closet.

Inside was her uniform which she had thankfully hung up despite being drunk. She went to the bathroom to have a shower before getting ready for the day.

Jane's morning was not nearly as calm and quiet. At exactly 7 am, Nancy came rushing in, she had definitely been waiting outside the door until the clock struck. She was excited to see what Jane was wearing, Will had suggested Max had given her, her sweater. And since they came back in the early hours of the morning there's not much chance she would've dressed before going to bed.

"Good morning, your royal highness." She bowed, walking over to her.
"Let me sleep just a minute longer." Jane mumbled, rolling over.
"It's 7 am Jane." Nancy replied, opening her curtains.

The bright sunlight prevented Jane from going back into her dream, so she covered her face with the blanket.

"There's no plans today, right?" She asked.
"No ma'am. But Max is going to be heading over in a minute, to accompany you in any activities you wish to partake in."
"She can wait." Jane grumbled, only getting a couple hours of sleep.

Nancy began to get impatient, desperately wanting to know if she was wearing the sweater or not.

Since she knew how stubborn the princess could be, she decided to get closer to the bed and pull the blanket off completely.

Jane whined as the cold autumn air hit her, and she curled herself up to preserve her heat. Nancy smiled as she noticed the sweater, and raised her eyebrows, surprised to see Jane not only wearing Max's sweater but the rest of her clothes seemed to belong to the guard.

"May I ask what are you wearing?" Nancy teased, already aware.
"Clothes." Jane answered, trying to snatch her blanket back.

The lady in waiting pulled the blanket far from the princess' reach, and Jane fell back onto the bed, annoyed.

"It's much too early for this."
"I assure you this is normal time ma'am. Why are you so tired?"
"The ball was exhausting, I'm glad there won't be another for a while." She murmured, covering her face with her hands as Nancy sighed.

"Come on princess, Max is going to be here any second now."
"One day, I'm going to sleep in and wake up naturally." She said, sitting up.
Nancy chuckled, "If that ever was to happen, the sun would've already set by the time you were up."

Jane rolled her eyes playfully and got out of bed, picking an outfit out as Nancy made the bed.

"What kind of things are people doing today? It'd help me decide what to wear." Jane asked.
"I suppose the normal. Training, cooking, sewing... no guests are here tonight apart from Michael."
"Very well, remind me to speak to him later please."
"Of course Princess."

———

Once Jane was ready, Nancy left the room and luckily found Will on her way. She pulled him to the side and smiled.

"What's the smile for?" Will asked, curious.
"Jane was wearing the sweater! And not only that, she seemed to be wearing Max's clothes completely!"
