Nancy grimaced as she held Jane's hair, rubbing her back as she threw up for the second time that day, this becoming almost a daily occurrence for the past week or so.

"Jesus Jane, what is going on with you?" She asked as the princess spat and wiped her mouth with a tissue before pressing the flush, standing up straight. "Surely this isn't right."
The younger girl washed her hands and rinsed her mouth out, "It's odd. At first I thought I had a fever but I don't feel any other symptoms."
Nancy furrowed her eyebrows, thinking of other possible explanations. "Perhaps food poisoning?"
She shook her head, "Max thought the same thing but I haven't eaten anything no one else has."

"Hmm." The lady hummed as Jane began brushing her teeth, hating the taste of vomit in her mouth. "Well have you only been feeling nauseous or is there other things?"
The brunette thought for a moment, "No... other than me feeling tired a lot of the time, but then again that's not out of the ordinary." She joked, making Nancy laugh lightly.

Suddenly an idea came into Nancy's mind. Nausea, fatigue, those were both signs of one thing...

She gasped, "Perhaps you're pregnant?!"
Jane almost choked on the minty toothpaste, spitting it out into the sink, "No way!"
"You told me you and Max were trying!"
"Could you say it any louder?!" She whispered loudly.
Nancy just giggled, "Sorry. But don't you think it's likely?"
"We've only tried once-" She stopped herself as Nancy gave her a look, "Twice-" She paused again, "...okay, three times. But still, that's not a lot! Some people take months to get pregnant, years even!"

"Well maybe you're just extremely fertile! It took Jonathan and I only two tries-"
"Ew Nance, I don't want to know about you and my brother's private life!" She pulled a face.
"Whatever you say." She rolled her eyes playfully, "When did you last try?"
"What did I just say-"
"Shush." Nancy stopped her, "Just tell me."
"10 days ago, maybe 2 weeks?"
"Well what are we waiting for? Use a test!"
"Why would I have a test in my-!" Nancy opened the cupboard under the sink and pulled a box of pregnancy tests out, making Jane frown. "I didn't put those there..."

"I know, I did." She smiled charmingly, "For a just in case moment. Go on, try it!"
Jane spat out her toothpaste again and rinsed her brush, thinking over it. "Okay, fine. Wait for me on my bed."
"Good luck!" Nancy grinned, already leaving the room.

The princess sighed as the door shut, turning to the box of tests. She has to admit she was a little nervous now that the moment had come, and had to admit she'd be a little let down it if it was negative. But what if it came out positive? What if she really was pregnant?

She opened the door a few minutes later and Nancy shot up, excited. "So?" She asked.
"I haven't checked it yet." The Princess confessed, "I'm too nervous."
"Ah it's going to be perfectly fine." She assured her, "If it's negative it's okay, you have ages yet to try again. And if it's positive then well..." She just smiled, the rest self-explanatory.

Jane nodded and took a deep breath before turning the test, looking at the one horizontal line. Nancy leaned in closer, her eyes widening.

"Oh my God!" She exclaimed, looking at the second line appearing, fainter than the first. She turned to Jane who looked shocked, jumping up and down. "Oh my God Jane!" She repeated, grabbing her hands as she suddenly felt hyper, "You're pregnant!"

The younger girl didn't believe it, taking a look for herself. The lines became more clearer and she grinned once it sunk in, laughing at Nancy's dancing.

"We're gonna be pregnant together! Thank goodness I'll finally have someone who will listen to me and understand me." She gushed.
"I'd have listened to you anyway." Jane giggled, still in a state of shock, "I can't believe I'm actually pregnant, it's weird to think there's going to be a whole human inside of me in just a few months."

Nancy smiled widely, bringing her in for a massive hug, almost enough to strangle the poor girl. "Ugh, our children will be born so close together! They're going to be the best cousin duo in the family tree, I'm telling you right now."
The princess chuckled, "Aww I can't wait to meet your baby, you're pretty much one third of the way there already."
"You'll be one of the first to meet them, I want you to be in the room with me when it happens."

Jane's eyes widened, "Really? In the room?"
"Well why not? You're like my little sister, plus you're going to experience it not long after." She spoke.
"Okay slow down Nancy, we only just found out." Jane laughed.
"I can't, I'm too excited! This might just be the best day of my life!"
"I need to tell Max." The girl suddenly remembered, not having any idea of where she might be, "I have to find her."
"Oh don't you worry I'll have her here in seconds." Nancy smiled mischievously, giving Jane one more hug before leaving the room to find the girl.

"Max!" Nancy called out, seeing her on the field with 50 or so men practicing their sword fighting.
"Yes?" She turned around, "Why do you look like you've just ran a marathon?"
"Because I practically have! You need to come inside right now, it's an emergency."
"An emergency? What's happened?" She frowned, sounding concerned.
"You'll find out, it's to do with Jane."
"What? Is she okay?!" Max quickly followed after her, knowing her men outside would stay on task, "What's happened Nancy?!"
"Stop freaking out, it's nothing bad!" She exclaimed, heading towards Jane's room.
"Well stop describing it as if it is!"
"I didn't describe anything. Now go inside, I need to lie down. You stress me out." She exhaled, opening the door and pushing Max inside before heading off towards her own room.

Max ignored her and shut the door behind her, rushing over to Jane as she saw her, putting her hands on her cheeks as she examined her face for any injuries or anything out of the ordinary.

"Are you okay?" She asked, still sounding worried despite Nancy's assurances. "Nancy told me there's an emergency."
"She was just exaggerating." Jane smiled, leaning up and pecking Max's lips softly. "Don't worry."
"Okay, okay good." Max nodded, more relaxed now. She moved her hands away, "So why did you call me here?" She wondered, checking to see if anything had changed in the room.
"I..." Jane hesitated, knowing Max wouldn't be upset but still, she had her nerves, "I wanted to tell you, that I'm pregnant."

Max froze, physically feeling her heart skip a beat. She slowly turned around, unsure if she heard her correctly.

"What?" She asked, coming closer.
"I'm pregnant." Jane replied, looking up at her.
"You're pregnant?" She repeated, a smile tugging at her lips, "Seriously?" Her wife nodded and a massive smile broke out on her face, no longer able to hide it as she lifted Jane into the air, spinning her around as she squealed, laughing.

"Holy shit!" Max exclaimed, covering her mouth as she forgot that language like that was frowned upon by some of the posh elders. "Sorry." She said, Jane not minding, used to her occasional swearing which had calmed down as she grew older. "When did you find out?"
"Only around 10 minutes ago, you and Nancy know." The brunette said.
The guard tucked Jane's hair behind her ear, a smile still on her face. She was sure it would remain there for days. She leaned down, placing a gentle kiss on her forehead before kissing her lips.

"I can't believe it." She whispered, their faces inches apart as they kissed again, "We're going to have a baby, a baby!" She sat down on the edge of the bed behind her, looking up at her wife, feeling a little lightheaded at the life-changing realisation.
Jane smiled softly as Max pulled her in closer, her hands stroking her hair as she tilted her chin up to look at her. "I can barely believe it either. We're actually going to be parents."
"Oh wow..." Max exhaled, the fact setting in. She had her hands on Jane's legs, slowly urging her closer as she kissed her stomach, never feeling so much love in her heart. "I love you, I love you so much." She murmured, wrapping her arms around her waist.
The princess chuckled, hugging her back. "I love you so much more." She spoke in a gentle tone, sitting in her lap as they remained in each other's arms for a moment, about to enter a new chapter in their life.
