(Summary: having a remarkable side effect came with its own problems.)

The entire Border knew about the Power Elite's side effect, foresight. On the outside, it sounds extremely handy. You could predict where, when and how enemies are going to attack, or even cheat on the next exam. It was, you could say, overpowered.

Having such overpowered side effect must be a wonderful thing, right? State/Ask that to Yuichi and your face will be disfigured the next second.

Yuichi laid on his bed, starring up at the ceiling. Insomnia hits like a truck, and there's nothing he could, except deal with it and move on. He shuffles around, moving from side to side, praying that by some miracle he could sleep. Only to be met with disappointment. He might as well go visit Yuma.

That's exactly what he did.

Yuma, per usual, was sitting on the edge of the roof, with his eyes closed. Yuichi slowly pushed open the door, making his way to the white haired shrimp.

Yuma turned around and greeted, "yo, Jin-san."

"Hey Yuma," he smiled back.

"Can't sleep?"

"Unfortunately so," he sighed.

"Hm, why's that?" Yuma Asked with his duck face.

"Insomnia," Yuichi replied, he walked over to where Yuma was sitting and placed his elbows on the edge. The night sky was empty. No stars, no moon, just pure darkness.

"In-som-nia?" Yuma tilted his head, to which Yuichi smiled warmly.

"It's something that causes falling asleep to be harder, not necessarily impossible though," Yuichi explained, his eyes kept wandering through the pitch black sky. Calming would be a word to describe it.

"Huh, well would you like to have a match?" Yuma offered. Damn this kid, always looking for an opportunity to fight strong opponents. Yuichi gave a light chuckle, and looked at Yuma.

The future. He sees it, everything, all of it in Yuma's eyes. It hurt him, but Yuichi smiled it off. "Sure," he answered, "Let's go to the Border HQ, there's still some people who's awake."

"Alright."

Yuichi and Yuma travelled using their triggers, since Reiji was asleep.

The Border HQ was quieter compared to the day, but nonetheless filled with people. "Let's do a 10 round match, Jin-san." Yuichi nodded his head in agreement. They sprinted off to their booth, and began their match.

The match lasted for about 4 hours, since both party were very skilled, causing each round to last on an average of 24 minutes. Yuichi turned out on top, with a score of 8-2.

They stood in front of the vending machine, with rice crackers and drinks. Yuichi was reevaluating the mistakes and mishaps Yuma made during their match. While also giving praises here and there.

"You could've launched those concrete bricks with grasshopper to unbalance me. It would've made the score 7-3."

Yuma hummed in response and took a sip of water.

After their match, most Border agents already left the HQ. It was 3AM, almost 4.

"Well, thanks for the match Jin-san. I think I'll head back to Tamakoma now, I've got to prepare for today morning's match with Murakami-senpai and Kageura-senpai, thank you for sparring with me," Yuma gave his usual duck face before leaving Yuichi by himself.

No one was at the Border right now, that meant privacy. He sat down on the bench, which was right in front of the vending machine. Yuichi stayed on the seat for awhile, trying to think of something that'll keep him occupied. The future, it daunts him endlessly. Pulling strings made his side effect sound cool and fun, but in reality it makes him tired and sleep deprived. One mess up and people he love will suffer or die.
