1985. Spencer's home. Mud room. Day.
  Shawn is searching the cabinets and closets.

Kitchen. Day.
Shawn walks into the kitchen, his flip flops slapping on the floor. He's still searching. Henry is at the table reading a newspaper and drinking coffee.

Henry: Hey Shawn, what in the world do you think you're doing?

Shawn: Hide and seek with Alyssa and Gus

Alyssa: (was hiding in the pantry with the door cracked a little)

Henry: I don't think so.

Shawn: But you said we could.

Henry: Not like that. Alyssa, come on out.

Alyssa: (sighed in relief and opened the pantry coming out) Good because I almost took a nap in there.

Shawn: But that's how you play

Henry: (shakes his head) Not in my house, Shawn, you can't trail a suspect like that. Look how loud you are. (Sets down coffee and newspaper) your perp, which in this case is Alyssa, is going to hear you coming from every turn. Those things (points to the flip flops) smack every time you take a step. If you're going to wear them when you compete.

Alyssa: (looks confused)

Shawn: (also looked confused) Compete?

Henry: (whispers) compete on the balls of your feet. (Stands and demonstrates) balls of your feet. You take deliberate steps. You don't know where she is. She shouldn't get to know where you are. She's invisible, you're invisible. Now you've leveled the playing field.

Shawn: Can we go now?

Henry: No, you two are going to learn to do the little things right. For instance... (kneels behind wall) When you peer around a corner, I want you to stay down low because they're expecting you up here at eye level. (crawls on all fours) When you walk down a hall, check the grains of the carpet. We just vacuumed, right? And never, ever again, do I ever want to hear you slam a door when you can pull it closed.

Alyssa: Yeah, Shawn

Henry: Alyssa, you too.

Shawn: Yeah, Alyssa.

Henry: Shawn, no

Shawn: But we're just playing

Henry: Well, play right, Shawn, or don't play at all. (sits back in chair)

Shawn and Alyssa take off their  flip-flops and shoes and walk across the floor on the balls of their feet.

Henry: Shawn,Alyssa (whispers), he's not in here.

Shawn and Alyssa crouch and head for the door.

Present Day. SBPD. Hall. Day.

Shawn creeps down the hall and hides behind a section of the wall where he listens to Lassiter talking with Juliet and other officers. Alyssa appeared behind Shawn, eating some chips watching him.

Lassiter: I don't need to tell you how vital it is that we maintain the utmost secrecy on this heist. The Attorney General does not want his son's wedding disrupted any more than it's already been.

Shawn leans nonchalantly in the corner as an officer walks past. He bumps into Alyssa and jumps.

Shawn: (whispers) how long have you been standing there.

Alyssa: (whispers back) long enough to see you make a fool of yourself.

Shawn shakes his head and the two listen back in to what they're saying.
