Chapter 8

Third Person POV~

It has been a few weeks since Caelan and Kourtney had been on Ellen.

They launched their clothing line, and it sold out not even a few hours later.

For a while, the rumors of Kourtney and Caelan dating stopped.

Then, the paparazzi caught Kourtney constantly driving into the community that Caelan lives in.

Even with Caelan coming clean about her crush on Kate on a live. They still won't give up the idea of her and Kourtney.

They couldn't play it off as them working together anymore. Neither Caelan nor Kourtney wanted to lie.

Lying made them feel as though there really was something to hide.

With Scott being locked up, Kourtney could go home. But the police are still investigating how he got into her community.

The security video showed that he typed in the code himself. The question is, where did he get it from?

"With all these rumors, I think I should stay with my mom or at Kim's. I just don't want to impose." Kourtney says as she and Caelan are having breakfast.

"Kourtney, whatever you want to do, it's okay by me. I just need to guarantee you that you aren't imposing." Caelan says.

She turns to the side on the barstool to face Kourtney. "As for these rumors, there's no telling if they'll ever end." Caelan says.

"Being part of our lifestyle. Our lives in the media like they are. People think they know everything." Caelan says, releasing a deep sigh.

"We know the truth." Caelan says. A small smile on her face. Internally, both of them are wondering about the possibility. What if they were dating?

"Yeah, you're right." Kourtney says. "But, if you don't want to stay here or with your family, you could move into the guest house." Caelan suggests.

Kourtney would have her own space, considering Caelan's guest house is bigger than Kourtney's house.

"You'd let me take over your guest house?" Kourtney asks in disbelief. "Yes. It's never been used. But I've kept up on the upkeep." Caelan says.

"I haven't been a really good friend over the years, and yet, you have been going out of your way for me." Kourtney says.

"We have always been friends. Family." Caelan reassures her. "Take a few days, think it over." Caelan says.

Caelan went to her parents' house after breakfast. Meredith wants to have a conversation about the tabloids again.

"We already tried the whole fashion line side of things. No matter what we spin, how we spin it, they are going to make their own accusations." Caelan says.

"Kris and I think Kourtney should explain what has been going on. Between her and Scott." Meredith says.

Caelan shakes her head, her jaw clenching. "No. Absolutely not. That is her personal business. Talking about what happened, her relationship with him... she's not ready for that." Caelan says.

She's right. Kourtney isn't ready for it at all. That's something they talk about regularly during their nightly talks.

"Okay, okay. Kris is talking to Kourtney about it, though." Meredith says.

"I'm going to ask though as you seem very protective over her. Are you absolutely sure that these rumors are only rumors?" Meredith asks.

Caelan looks away from her mother, avoiding eye contact. "I think... that maybe all this is just getting to everyone's head." Caelan says.
