It was time...
Time for heather to wake up. Time for heather to pin up her laces that laid dirtied on her favorite pair of shoes. Time for the queen to address her concerns to her kingdom of people.
It was time...to grow up.Even though, she'd much rather lay around all day and go back to bed, it was true that she would much rather have happy dreams of being in love that blanketed most of her sleep filled moments, it was seldom that she had deliberate nightmares.
She'd rather not speak on the state of her relationship with her now dead parents or the responsibilities that followed. Today though she had little to no choice.
It was her duty as a queen to protect and serve her countrymen, families, and children, moreover, her kingdom that laid in ruin, a ruler without a king despite the loss in power of authority that it stood forever implanted in the province, the small ample freedoms were still relied on to distill the nations ruler, to persuade them for reforming their own laws to their own personal benefit.
Heather slid her body off to the right side of her royal size bed, her smile slowly fading as the indiscretion of her subtle needs being raised and demolished as she heard multiple knocks and voices being rung on her sleek wooden door.
Sliding on her white T - shirt and placing on her favorite holed and tattered blue jeans, she slid down her balcony terrace, small vines collapsing under the speed of her slide as she ran past the still bustling Art patrons, past the already seated tavern, and out of town, nobody even providing side glances or looks at all, as their queen shuffled through the crowds of endless peasants, loving family's, caring neighbors, well known wealthy men and women, small dogs and feral cats that littered each discreet alleyways, didn't matter at all, alas she reached the edge of town.
The sunlight still arriving from its slumber, she walked through the loving yellow buttercups, the white petaled roses that sat on small bushes shifted in the early morning summer breeze. She sat down, paused in place, legs formally crossed.
She listened to the echo of birds, the buzz of small bugs as they passed her by, she closed her eyes, focusing on the tranquility and the warmth of the solitude that filled her soul.
Alone at last. This is what she needed. She liked this. The gratification of meditation, the happiness it brought her, and the emptiness it filled.
She loved it.Yes, she'd sit here for a few hours before returning back home to the castle, and telling each person in her castle that she would report to the kingdoms residents about the royal courts plan to avoid further tragedy, in one or two more hours.
Maybe she'd come again to this spot, eventually. Tomorrow or the day after. She'd finally found peace. She'd found temporary happiness. As she sat there, the sensation of relief setting in, heather spoke one thing "now onto better days", as she prepared mentally for the stressful days ahead.
