Author's POV:

The half-open door was pushed open and the familiar footsteps began to sound...

Arjun stirred in sleep and subconsciously raised his head...Sona's eyes met his which seemed to be static for a moment

He was in a trance shaking his brain and was still blurry unable to clear down how the time passed

"Good morning" Sona smiled while Arjun's eyes were gentle even if he didn't notice himself

Arjun too smiles at her...

Both their eyes slightly curved bright as the rising sun

She came near the bed while he too erected himself...

Their eyes fixed at each other as if having their own conversation and there was no reaction for a long time

As she was about to hold his hand he abruptly stepped back "I think I need to clean myself first" he blurted out as he realized that his body was still smelling alcohol...

She nodded and he immediately rushed to shower...

Cleaning himself he was dressed into neat clothes and found Sona sitting on the bed fidgeting her fingers...

The moment she acknowledged his presence she just tapped the bed asking him to sit next to her for which he just followed her

At this point, two hearts went silent again...

They always felt that they had a lot to share with each other however they also felt that they had some hidden void or some kind of invisible gap between them...

But today the void has to be filled and the gap has to be crossed

Because at that moment they had the courage to face everything

"About yesterday," they said in unison and paused  as they saw sadness in each other's eyes while mentioning the bitter incident

Gulping the lump of sadness Sona put the words out of her heart "I won't ask you where did you go without even informing me and why was your phone off and why were you so badly drunk...

I have been kept in the dark since the beginning but today I want to face that darkness

I don't want to turn a blind eye to my illness

I want to know the real story of this beast...

The story that has always remained unsaid and unheard"

A bitter smile crept up his face as she was the only one who was willing to know his side of the coin

Arjun took a deep breath and spit out the pain that he had held in his heart for so long...

Flashback from Arjun's POV:

"It had only been a few months since we were still sulking over Maa's demise but then the community elders and relatives   put forward the convention that a house that had faced a death must be echoed by wedding bells within a year

Baba too agreed as he believed that my wedding was Maa's last wish

And the bride hunting began

I wanted a homely girl who could run my house effectively and take care of Baba in my absence as going  out of town for visits regularly was a part of my job

Rest I didn't have much expectations

Through a community broker, we got her profile

Her name was Asha...
