-----------------Tessa POV--------------
I gasped as a tall figured man plopped down across from me. Clutching my heart, I took a deep breath.
"Why so jumpy, darling? Forget your glock?" He tauntingly mocked.
I looked up to see him. The blonde hair that was slicked back, the beard, the blue eyes, the smile--it was the gorgeous man from last night. I gulped hard.
"No," I started. "She's in my back." I smirked.
"We have something in common, then," he chuckled.
"Sorry for pulling the gun on you, uh," I embarrassingly tried to remember his name.
"It's Jackson Teller. But you can just call me Jax." He smiled sincerely and I returned the favor.
"Right...Sorry, my mind is all cloudy," I laughed anxiously. "It's been a rough couple of days." I sighed.
"Why's that?" He was actually concerned, but I want no pity. I don't want to think about my traumas. I want to be carefree, to not have a worry in the world as I'm sitting in front of this gorgeous biker. I laughed at my thought.
"What's so funny, gorgeous?" He taunted and smirked. I gulped hard.
"Nothing, I, uh, thought of something funny." I laughed nervously and flashed a quick smile. His smile met mind, and so did his eyes.
Oh, his eyes...they were mesmerizing. A light, glowing blue that swallowed my whole existence as he stared into mine. I believe I stopped breathing at one point. Then, I snapped out of it.
"So, I asked a question sweetheart. Why is your mind cloudy? And why in the hell are you so edgy," he brings his voice to a soft whisper.
"Why do you have your gun in the back of your pants right now? Who is after you?" He was concerned, I could tell. He knew so many things, suspected so many things, I had to make up something.
"I, uh, got caught up in some things earlier in my life. Taught me a lesson or two, so now I make sure I'm never in really in danger, and if I am, I have full control of the situation." I smiled welcomingly at him.
"That's understandable. You know how to shoot that thing?" He laughed. I rolled my eyes. I leaned in closer, raising my eyebrows and biting my lip.
"You wanna find out?" I whispered softly.
He got up from the seat, and leaned close to my ear, his lips gently yet barely brushing my ear, "I wanna find out, darling, oh so bad," I lifted an eyebrow, my cheeks blushed rosy red and my whole body heated with every raspy whisper he voiced. "Meet me at my clubhouse at 5 if you don't have any plans, baby doll," he smirked and walked away.
I watched his tall, masculine figure glide through the cafè. Every woman stared at him as he made his way through. I was completely in awe. I have never met a man so mysterious and so edgy. I gulped hard, I scrambled to get my things and I walked out to my car as fast as I could.
Jax smirked at me, and waved for me to follow his bike. I abided and quickly followed.
It was as if he had me in a trance, he had me completely and utterly fascinated.
I got in my car and sped out of the parking lot, following his bike, watching him make his smooth movements while riding. Could this really be? This man, Jax Teller, is he trying to reach out to me? I sighed.
I've had this happen before. "Don't get your hopes up, Tessa," I whispered lowly to myself. My heart was beating a mile a minute. Jax looked back and smirked at me. My heart skipped a beat.
-----------------Jax POV-------------------
I looked back. She looked intense, one hand on the steering wheel, one hand on the gear. She knew how to drive that thing. Her smooth movements, like she's spent her whole life planning every one of them, so graceful yet so sturdy. I'm taking her to the garage. What am I thinking?
I start to overthink. Shit. Shit. She worked for the Miami PD, the club is in some shady jobs here lately...can she be trusted? I swallow hard, I close my eyes and let the wind rustle through my hair, I inhale and exhale deeply. She is so damn addictive, and I just met her a day ago. This isn't like you, Jax...stay on your toes, I think to myself. I make the left turn into the garage. I signal for her to follow.
———————-Tessa POV———————
Rolling my eyes to myself, I'm looking at all the men staring at my car.
"Has no one here seen an Audi before? Jeez," I scoff. I pull next to Jax. Reaching for my door handle, leaning towards the door, it opens before I can even look up. It's Jax."Chivalry will never be dead as long as I'm alive," he smirks at me and chuckles. I smile and let it sink, I step out, barely able to breathe. Should I really be doing this now? It's been 7 months since Ethan's last attack. Trusting someone this soon? My heart begins to race. I close my eyes, and there it is again.
———————-(FLASHBACK)————————
"Ethan stop!" I scream at the top of my lungs.
Bang. Another gun shot.
I scream in pain, clutching my side. Warm liquid seeping through my fingers, I get back up.
"You were always so sexy when you were mad." He taunts as I limp towards him.
"Coming back so soon baby?" He smiles, and rests the gun against my temple. The cold steel filling my veins with fire.
"Please kill me," I beg him. "Please just do it. Please end it, because I can't take another fucking second breathing on this earth knowing your disgusting and malice ass is living. So kill me. Do it. DO IT!" I screamed.Bang.
——————(END FLASHBACK)—————
I gasp.
"Tessa? I've been calling your name. You okay sweetheart?" He looks at my eyes, noticing they're watering just a tad.
"I'm good," I chuckle and run my hair back. "I just need a cigarette. You got a light?"I put my cigarette through my teeth and before I know it, it's lit. I look up. "Thanks Jax. So why are we here specifically?" I look up at him. He was already staring at me. I blush a little, and turn away shyly.
"Relaxing i figured. Guarded, safe, beer, pot...all the ingredients for a real good time."
My eyes light up. I smile devilishly.
"Did you say pot?"
