Michikatsu Tsugikuni in the Taisho Era

Chapter 5: Moon Hashira

Michikatsu followed Rengoku and met Ubuyashiki who was talking with the crows. "Master Oyakata. It good to see you in good health. I would like to tell you something!" Ubuyashiki was blind but knew the voice. It was Kyojuro Rengoku. "Ah Kyojuro! thank you. It good to see you too. What is it that you would like to tell me?" Ubuyashiki's voice and smile was very warm and gentle. "This slayer Michikatsu Tsugikuni should be promoted as a hashira! He is a Moon Breathing user and his strength and speed is incredible! he even bested me in a fight." Ubuyashiki then smiled once more and felt proud. His children are now getting stronger and now a new one became a hashira.

"Michikatsu Tsugikuni yes? Thank you for the supports you are granting us. I proudly say that you are promoted as the new hashira. The Moon Hashira. I heard about you.. you are the slayer who grew in ranks very quickly in just a week. Could it mean? You became a hashira in just a week?" Ubuyashiki felt amazed. Michikatsu was definetly strong.

"Now as the hashira. You have many access and well respected. I'm very thankful for your service Michikatsu. You may go now." Both Rengoku and Michikatsu left. Mitsuri who was waiting at the back showed up and wanted to congratulate Michikatsu. Michikatsu noticed that the love hashira is really cheerful. He isn't bothered actually. Thought.. he misses his comrades... and his brother.

Michikatsu went back to the butterfly estate to rest. The three butterfly girls and Aoi showed up. To congratulate Michikatsu for being the new Hashira. He noticed that the three slayers are gone. "Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke did a great job in the training and left. They are in good healths now." Michikatsu finally knew the boar masked's name. Aoi left leaving Michikatsu all by himself. He changed his uniform to his comfortable clothes to sleep.

It was morning again. Until suddenly a crow been tapping at the window. Michikatsu got up and opened the window. "Caw! Hashira meeting! head to the headquarters! caw!" The crow got inside the room waiting for his new partner. Once Michikatsu got ready. He realized he has been assigned to a new Kasugai crow. He decided to give it a new name. Neoma.. as in new moon. Michikatsu's crow a female and since hes a Moon Hashira. It fits her. Neoma liked the name as she relaxed on Michikatsu's shoulder. He thanked the breakfast and said goodbye to the butterfly girls. Rushing towards the headquarters he found Rengoku and Mitsuri and two other hashiras he haven't seen. One was relaxing on the tree while the other was talking to Rengoku. Both of these two hashiras that Michikatsu never seen were short..

"Michikatsu! there you are! good morning comrade." Rengoku greeted Michikatsu. Michikatsu remembers how the Rengoku in the sengoku era was very cheerful and with so much high spirit. Heh.. even his descendant is just like him. Michikatsu smiled and approached the other hashiras to greet them as well. Until a few minutes. a young boy arrived "Good morning Muichiro! Did you sleep well?" Michikatsu gotten confused. Looking at Muichiro hes just a young boy. how.? "Im alright Rengoku." Muichiro then as usual. stared at the clouds. 

"Let me introduce you to everyone Michikatsu. This is Kocho Shinobu, the Insect Hashira. This is Mitsuri Kanroji, shes a Love Hashira. And this is Obanai Iguro, the serpent hashira. The young boy who just arrived is Muichiro Tokito, the Mist Hashira" Michikatsu's eyes widdened. "Tokito"? Isn't that.. His wife's family name? He missed Haruhime so much. Michikatsu decided to concentrate and use the transparent world. The blood cells of Muichiro.. it the same as him.. could it mean? That Muichiro is his descendant? Michikatsu is really suprised. His wife managed to give her children a good healthy life without the father being around but he still felt terrible leaving her. He still kept the hair tie his wife gave him when he didn't quite like keeping his hair down a lot.

More hashiras have arrived and quickly got into positions. Michikatsu just followed what they did and bowed down. Ubuyashiki arrived, along with his twin daughters guiding him. "Greetings master Oyakata. It good to see you in a really good health today." The white haired male spoke. From what Rengoku told Michikatsu. It was the wind hashira. "Thank you Sanemi. Today I gatered you all here to welcome your new comrade. Michikatsu Tsugikuni." All of the hashiras looked at Michikatsu. Michikatsu was pretty nervous since they are all staring at him. "He will be the new Moon Hashira. Please treat him like one of your own." Ubuyashiki bid farewell to the hashiras and went back inside.

"What a flashy look buddy! I never seen you before." The sound hashira felt amazed at Michikatsu's appearance. "What do you use? Moon Hashira? Could it mean you use Moon Breathing?" Asked the Insect Hashira. Michikatsu was bombarded with many questions and decided to introduce himself. "Yes, I am a Moon Breather." That all Michikatsu could say until Rengoku did the talking. "He became a hashira in just a week. Some of us took years to become one and we gotten suprised at how Muichiro became a hashira in just two months! But Michikatsu.. just became a hashira in just one week!" What intrested Michikatsu the most is that Muichiro became a hashira in just two months. Guess Michikatsu's great strength was passed down to his descendant.

Michikatsu turned around and saw a gigantic hashira. white eyes? Is he blind? "This is Gyomei Himejima. Hes the stone hashira and the strongest slayer in the Corp. He possess incredible strength." Mitsuri felt happy to introduce Gyomei. The stone hashira gave a gentle smile. "And this is Sanemi Shinazugawa, the wind hashira. Don't worry. Hes angry all the time." Sanemi felt ticked off at how Rengoku introduced him but said nothing. He liked the flame hashira's like a brother. "And this is Giyuu Tomioka! He is.. very quiet and a bit distant from all of us. He is the water hashira." Rengoku wished he could spend more time with Giyuu. "I did catch Giyuu opening up to Gyomei. Isn't it true Himejima?" Mitsuri gave a smile. She enjoys to see Giyuu spend time with the other hashiras. "Yea. He is very sweet unlike how Obanai and Sanemi describe him." Shinobu also gave a smile "I wish Giyuu could communicate more with us. I hate to see him lonely." Shinobu did try all her might to befriend Giyuu. 

After few minutes every hashiras left to do work. "It seems. I have a mission to take care of. Kocho and Tsugikuni." Shinobu bid a farewell while Michikatsu, "Please come home safe my friend." Michikatsu was hoping to spend more time with his friend's descendant. Rengoku just.. remind him so much. Rengoku gave a reassuring smile and said that he will comeback, and left. The Insect Hashira also left leaving him and the mist hashira.

"Hello Muichiro." Michikatsu sat beside the mist hashira. "What was the name of the clouds again? I forgot.." Michikatsu felt confused. But Muichiro is just a fourteen year old boy..maybe it natural for him to behave like this? He doesn't realize Muichiro lost his memories. That what Mitsuri been trying to tell him earlier. Muichiro gotten tired and decided to go back. Michikatsu was left all by himself so he decided to go back too. He went back to the butterfly estate to rest. He is welcome here after all.
