"Ugh. I wish I was the one dealing with these Upper Moons." the wind hashira was feeling angry for not being there for the battle. The serpent hashira had his arms crossed for awhile. It was a hashira discussion with the leader, Ubuyashiki. The hashiras heard that Mitsuri and Muichiro managed to unlock the strange marks that appears on their body. They suspect maybe this is how they can get stronger. This meeting was about how to awaken a demon slayer mark.
"Sorry I'm late.." Michikatsu had to visit his tsuguko and other lower ranked slayers before the meeting. Now that everyone know about the marks they finally realized what the weird scars on Michikatsu's face actually is. "You didn't tell us you awakened this strange mark." Michikatsu eyes widened. He knows everything about the demon slayer mark but he realized unlike others, he can't make it dissapear. The mark on Michikatsu is like it apart of his body.
"What if he didn't know?" Mitsuri replied. "No. You guys deserve to know." Michikatsu knows it for the best.. even if it means he must tell them the bad news as well. Michikatsu sat down, everyone gotten closer to carefully listen the moon hashira.
"The mark is a Demon Slayer Mark. only those with sufficient skills can produce a mark... the marks depends on your breathing styles. I do not quite know how Mitsuri's mark dissapeared but mine still remained."
"Muichiro also awakened the mark. What happened before you awakened it Mui?" - Sanemi
"I don't quite know.. all of a sudden my body gotten hotter and my heart beat's rate started to rise. I.. couldn't remember the rest." Muichiro looked down still feeling lucky he survived Upper Moon Five's attacks. especially that water prison vase.. he would've drowned.
"... everyone." Michikatsu knew it was time. "Awakening the demon slayer mark comes at a cost." Everyone was curious wanting to know what Michikatsu meant. "Awakening the mark makes you gain superhuman strength. But in return, you will die at the age of twenty five." all the other hashiras eyes widened. "Wait.. so Muichiro and Mitsuri will.. die if they reach the age of twenty five?" Michikatsu nodded at Obanai's question.
"After all.. we demon slayers have one goal right? At least.. for our future generation. They must know the demon slayer mark will help them at least to defeat the Upper Moons." Michikatsu trying to brighten up the mood.
"Right. If we failed to destroy the demons. The future ones will!" Gyomei feeling there is still hope.
"I guess that settles it. thank you for the information Michikatsu. It seems now you all must train all of the lower ranks in order to get stronger." Ubuyashiki dismisses the hashiras and they were all going to leave. "Master Oyakata.." Michikatsu looked at Ubuyashiki. "May I.. speak to you privately?" Ubuyashiki grew curious "Of course Michikatsu. Come."
"What is it you want to tell me my child?" - Ubuyashiki
"I was never meant to be here." Michikatsu got the dull expression. "What do you mean?" Ubuyashiki gotten confused.
"I'm not from this era master.. It a long story.." Michikatsu knew it for the best and he trusts Ubuyashiki. "You see. I come from the sengoku era. An era that is four hundreds years ago. The reason why I'm here is because I've been cursed to a demon's blood demon art that I killed. I was trying to figure out the way back since I came here but I couldn't.. " Michikatsu looked down. Knowing that the master will be angry.
"It alright. I understand."
"Huh?"
"You came from an era which I would call it the golden age. It is the era where the breathing styles were invented. Since you come from the golden era.. could you tell me more?" Ubuyashiki love history about demon slayers in the past.
