The Things I Never Did Before

Elena's POV

"You look happy from here." I turn my attention to Philip. We're in call, I fix my earpiece and smiled at him.

Nakita ko siya mula dito sa taas. Suot niya ang uniform na katulad sa mga staff ng catering service. His eyes are staring at me with a grin on his face.

“Of course,” Nilibot ko ang paningin, andiyan na ang bagong kasal. “I'm so happy."

“And why is that?"

My lips curved into a smile, “Because this is the first thing I never did before."

That scene kept on playing in my head. Paulit-ulit at sa bawat saglit na naaalala ko iyon ay hindi ko maiwasang mapangiti.

Why does it feel so satisfying to do that? It's my first time but I didn't expect to leave an impact to me. I feel like, I'm freaking alive. My blood are functioning well as well as my heart and vessels.

Right now I'm waiting for Christina to show up and beg. Because she needs to and I need something from her too. Why can't she understand the give-and-take?

“Here's your order ma'am.” Napatingin ako sa waiter na nagserve ng kape sa'kin.

Ngumiti ako sa kanya, “Thanks."

Halos isang oras na din akong naghihintay kay Christina sa cafe na 'to. I wonder if she saw my gift for her. Sana ay binuksan niya maganda pa naman 'yung regalo ko sakanya. But knowing na walang Christina ang nagpapakita sa'kin ngayon means 'di pa niya nabuksan.

I let out a deep breath. I grabbed the coffee and took a sip. Pangatlong kape ko na rin 'to pero wala pa din siya.

Dalawang araw ang lumipas pero walang Christina ang nagpakita sakin. Ni anino ay hindi ko mahagilap. I was waiting for her and I'm excited to talk to her. But I guess she's not yet ready to talk it out.

But I won't let this slide. Hindi pwedeng pagtaguan niya ang ginawa niya. Kailangan niyang pagbayaran ang mga ginawa niya. Lalo na kung may kinalaman siya sa pagkamatay ng Lolo ko.

Nasa isang restaurant ako na pagmamay-ari nina Melissa. Speaking of which nasa harap ko sila at nag-iinom. I immediately took a picture and post it on my personal social media account and tag the location. Para naman malaman ni Christina kung saan ako ngayon.

Baka sakaling mag iba ang isip niya at maisipang sabihin sa'kin ang totoo. I'm fucking desperate right now.

“Ele, if I were you don't ever date a guy like him.” Melissa says, holding a shot glass. Medyo lasing na din ito dahil kanina pa sila umiinom ni Philip.

Biglaan kasing nag-aya si Melissa, 'yon pala ay nakipaghiwalay siya sa boyfriend niyang cheater. Kaya heto siya ngayon nagluluksa dahil sa tatlong taong nasayang at nagdidiwang dahil sa wakas ay malaya na muli siya.

Inabutan niya ako ng alak at agad ko naman iyong nilagok. I've been drinking my medicine regularly thanks God hindi na ako madalas atakihin ng sakit sa tiyan ko.

"I swear you'll regret it." dagdag pa niya.

I nodded to her. "Of course I won't. Kung ako nga ay hindi na ako papasok sa isang relationship." seryosong sabi ko.

Pinaningkitan ako ni Philip ng tingin. Iyong tingin na parang may alam, but seriously wala akong ideya kung anong nasa isip nito.

The next day is still the same just like the other day. That's what I thought. But no, because this time, Christina showed up.

I was on my way out at the recording company and I saw her sitting in the lobby.

When our eyes met she suddenly stood up and hurry towards me. I was confused until she grabbed my hands and drag me out there.
