"You're sure this is a good idea, Sera?" Maverick asked cautiously, arms crossed over his chest as Sera packed a small bag for overnight.

"Why wouldn't it be?"

"You mentioned the Mooreland woman almost caught you sneaking around last night. What if that happens again?" Out of the two immortals, Maverick had always been the worrywart. He was the one to see all the possible outcomes. While he often overdid it, his overthinking made up for Sera's occasional lack of thinking.

"She won't. If she does, I'll make an excuse of some sort."

"What sort of excuse? You can't say you lost your way to the bathroom again."

"I mean... I could." She joked, throwing the bag over her shoulder.

"Seraphina, this is a serious matter. Don't joke about it. What excuse would you use?"

"I know that, Mav. Don't worry. I'll say I had misplaced my phone or something when Danny was showing me around since he forgot to last time, and that I was going back to get it." The auburn-haired girl said, looking at him. "I promise you, I have things handled. I know what I'm doing. Oliver may not have been the best lover, but he was an amazing teacher. He taught me to survive, Maverick. I know how to do it properly, even though I seem like I don't."

"I know, just..." He shook his head, deciding it was important. "Have a good night, Sera. Have fun if you can."

"Good night to you, too. And don't you worry, I will. I've always been good at balancing work and play." She told the dark-haired man before walking out the front door. Something about those words scared Maverick. However, knowing there was nothing he could do about it, he shook it off and went back to his research of rereading the journals.

Many hours had passed since Sera had returned from her house and had dinner with Danny, his family, and a disgruntled Alexis. Beth gave a look of disbelief between the two when they'd mentioned her staying the night in his room to study with him. It was understandable, of course, due to it being an excuse that often was used to used to hide... other activities, but in this case, it was genuine.

Once the pair had helped clean up dinner and said goodnight to the other's, they headed back upstairs, where they sat and watched a movie first. They both figured they deserved a small break before they began on their project. The two debated on a couple of different movies for about twenty minutes before finally deciding on The Hangover... That may have turned into watching all three of them. It may have been crude, but it was the laugh the two needed after earlier.

Only after the movies had finished and they had gotten over their quieted laughing fits did the two decide to begin on the project. They had started simply be doing a quick scan through each of the books Sera had found, taking a few notes here and there.

"So, I was thinking-- Danny?" Sera's thoughts came to a pause as she noticed the boy beside her had fallen asleep. She glanced over to the clock, taking note of the time -- 2:47 AM. She was thankful he had fallen asleep. Now, she could have a look around for that journal.
