Chapter Four

Scene 1: Afton and Louis stroll into the Art room and Afton lets him pick their seat.

LOUIS: (pointing) "How about the back?" (boasting) "I'm the goodest at Art, I don't need to pay attention."

AFTON: (chuckles) "That doesn't even make sense, but sure let's sit in the back, the silence will do us good."

???: (cheery, loud) "Afton Neil?"

A girl with warm brown eyes and jet black hair pulled tightly into a bun was smiling at the back of Afton's head. Something about her, maybe her high Polish accent, seemed to be irritating Afton, because she pulled her hands into fists and whispered a silent prayer to God.

AFTON: (faking cheerfulness) "Hi Lutz! Long time no see. How are you?"

LUTZ: "I'm good, but I need to get running, looks like I'm not in your art class this year. Maybe you'll actually come first!" (genuinely enthusiastic) "See you on the fields, dearie!"

She walks out the door and Afton stamps to the back rows, occupying the seat in the corner letting Louis slip in beside her.

AFTON: (passive aggressive) "If I could just take her little gross face and squish it, I would be a happier person."

LOUIS: (intrigued) "She isn't gross."

AFTON: (glares at him, shape shifts into her) "This is gross. Can you not see this?" (changes back)

LOUIS: (interested) "What did she do to you?"

AFTON: (teacher enters) "I'll tell you at lunch."

Scene 2: Art class consisted of Cubism, Realism and Surrealism being explained. Then Drama was a simple overlook of a play they were going to be producing. Now it's time for lunch and Harry has a friend with him.

NIALL: (approaching with open arms) "Loueh!"

LOUIS: (bundles in his embrace) "Niall."

HARRY: (to Afton) "No one tells me anything."

AFTON: (excited, joins the hug) "Aw our threesome's now a foursome."

LOUIS: (coughing) "I'm all for being in your friendship and all but I like dick. Only dick."

AFTON: (chokes on snickers) "Jeez, Louis why are you so literal?"

HARRY: (ignoring) "I'm going to get lunch."

AFTON: (hands him some money) "Get me a sandwich pwease."

NIALL: "I'm gonna buy something too," (looking at Louis) "want anything?"

LOUIS: "Please," (pulls out money) "I guess a sandwich is good."

AFTON: (walls to the center table with Louis in toe) "Alright back to Lutz."

LOUIS: (sits, interested) "Yay! Story time."

AFTON: (rolls her eyes, sits in front of him) "Lutz Azeri Mikulski," (scratches her eyebrow) "we use to be friends and she still thinks we are," (upset) "we fell out in the 7th grade because she gave my boyfriend, at the time, a blowjob."

LOUIS: (extremely interested) "Continue.."

AFTON: (angry) "The slut, had the gales to come to me the next day and tell me that he tasted good," (looks at Louis in twisted excitement) "I punched her so hard she broke her nose and I kneed the boy in his baby maker. She got a nose job when she took her annual summer trip to Poland, and magically forgot what I did to her."

LOUIS: "Oh so she's just.."

AFTON: (shrugs) "I don't know what her problem is, but all I know is she'll be screaming in pleasure one night, then tossing cards around with her mama the next, and she isn't afraid to say it."

LOUIS: "Interesting."

AFTON: (calm) "Eh. I remember I was screaming in the bathroom and that's when I met Harry."

LOUIS: (furrowed his eyebrows) "In the bathroom.."

AFTON: (teasing) "Yeah, he was yakking it up in the toilets, I guess he was too outta it to really see where he was going to do his business."

LOUIS: "Why was he throwing up?"

HARRY: (coming back with Niall, hand Afton her sandwich) "I never told her and I won't be."

AFTON: (whispers) "I think he was pregnant."

HARRY: (rolls his eyes, sits beside her) "I was 13, so I hadn't met Zayn yet. I was still pure," (comical) "oh, and I'm a boy." (Niall sits beside Louis and hands him his sandwich)

LOUIS: (talks to Afton with his telepathy) "I'll ask auntie Anne."

AFTON: (almost chokes on her sandwich, thinks) "OMG, this is cool we can have our own little conversations together."

LOUIS: (out loud) "Can't. My head's gonna kill after a while, with all those thoughts running about."

NIALL: (disbelieving) "17 years and you haven't gotten it down?"

LOUIS: (deflates) "I didn't really have a use for my powers when I was with.. umm.. nevermind." (picks at his sandwich)

AFTON: (understanding, changing topic) "So, any plans for later?"

HARRY: (remembering) "Zayn's taking me out on the town, anyone want to tag along?" (points at Louis) "you have to come, no buts."

LOUIS: (confused) "Okay.."

AFTON: (takes his tone as him being uncomfortable) "I'll come along, no one wants to be a third wheel."

NIALL: (sarcastic) "I'd love to come and watch you and Zayn eat each other's face," (huffs) "but there's this thing at Greg's school that mom and dad are dragging me to."

HARRY: (ignores him) "The parking lot at 2:45 sharp."
