Xavier and I sat on the floor of the art shed for a while longer before deciding to head back to the school.
The rain had slowed to a light sprinkle, and the only light outside was the moon. It was a bright half-moon, shining through the branches of the trees as we walked along the rain-soaked path.
I tugged on the brim of my beanie, pulling it down on my forehead a bit more.
It was quiet, the only sounds besides our footsteps being a few owls and the rustling of the wind going through branches.
We approached the gates of the school, the building looming above us.
"See you tomorrow?" I said, breaking the awkward silence that had filled the space between us for the past few minutes.
He nodded, giving me a small grin. "See you tomorrow."
We both went in separate directions to our dorm rooms, and I tip-toed through the hallways to the door and opened it. Bianca was still awake, scrolling through stuff on her phone, and she looked up at the motion of the door opening.
Her eyes darted to my arm "What the hell happened to you?"
"I ran into a tree," I replied quickly
She didn't seem convinced "A tree."
I nodded "Yep."
"Okay..." She trailed off "So, how was it with Xavier and, um, running into trees."
"It was good. Besides the trees." I put my sweatshirt in the hamper I hope those stains come out.
"So, why are you still awake?" I asked Bianca, grabbing sweatpants and a T-shirt from my closet.
"I was planning a day to buy dresses for the Rav'n with Divina and Yoko. Wanna join?"
I sighed "Sure. I'm probably not attending, though it would be nice to look around."
"What would you be doing then?"
"Bingeing season 2 of Shadow and Bone with some ice cream and a bunch of blankets?"
Bianca sighed "How did we become friends again?"
"I have no clue." I walked into the bathroom and got changed into my PJs.
After coming out of the bathroom, I collapsed onto my bed and fell asleep.

The next morning, the Rav'n was the topic of almost every conversation. Seeming it was tomorrow, it wasn't much of a surprise.
Yoko came up beside me as I sipped my coffee.
"You still joining us at Hawte Kewture later today?" she asked.
I shrugged. "Bianca wants me to, and it would be nice to look, I guess."
"You know, you can still go. Bianca, Divina, and I were just going to go as a group. You could go with us."
"I might take you up on that if I find something I like." I downed the rest of the coffee in my cup.
Yoko smiled "That's my girl. We're leaving for Jericho after Ms. Thornhill's class."
"I'll see you then. Coffee's on me after."
"I'll stick with tea. I do not see how you can drink that glorified bean water." Yoko sighed, and I laughed.
———————————————————I was with Divinia and Yoko, waiting for Bianca, and my phone buzzed.
Checking it, I saw it was Bianca.
TheBiancaBarclay: I'm going to be late, Ms. Thornhill wants me to stay behind and help with some last minute stuff for the dance. Should be there in 30.
YourFriendlyNeighborhoodFireNymph: K. I'll tell Yoko and Di.
Turning off my phone, I looked back at Divina and Yoko. "Bianca said she's going to be late. Ms. Thornhill wants her help with dance stuff."
"That makes sense," Divina said.
My phone buzzed again, and this time it was Xavier.
ThatArtistThorpe: Hey El, I ended up leaving paintbrushes in the Quad, and I'm currently in Jericho. Could you bring them back to the shed?
YourFriendlyNeighborhoodFireNymph: Sure thing, I'm close to there anyways
ThatArtistThorpe: Thanks El :)
YourFriendlyNeighborhoodFireNymph: Np!
"Hey, so I have to do something real quick. I'll be back guys." I said, looking at Yoko and Divina
"Don't take too long. I would like to get there before dark." Yoko joked.
I smirked and jogged towards the Quad. On one of the tables, there was a stained coffee mug with a few dirty paintbrushes sticking out of it. Recognizing the mug, I picked it up and made my way to the trail through the woods that led to Xavier's art shed.
Through the clouded windows, I could see some light coming out.
He must have left the light on. I shrugged before opening the door.
Inside the shed, was Wednesday.
She really has to be everywhere I go, doesn't she.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked her, closing the door.
She turned around "Looking."
"Okay, new question: How the hell do you know about this place, and why are you here?"
"I followed Xavier here. I know both of your guy's secret."
I furrowed my eyebrows, setting the paintbrush mug down on one of the tables "What secret?"
"The matching scratch marks. Xavier's drawings of the monster. The fact that every single body that is missing a limb in the morgue has it burnt off at the stump.""I don't know what you're insinuating, but you should leave."
"You know exactly what I'm talking about, Elliot." Wednesday said, "And soon everyone will know."
"Yeah, I still don't know what you're talking about. Leave." I pointed at the door "There's the door, in case you missed it. Oh wait, you didn't, because you snuck in here." I opened the door, leaving it open behind me as I left to get back with Divina, Yoko, and Bianca.
