I sighed as I laid my head against the window looking at the houses go by as me and my mom are driving to our new home.

A new job means, a new home. It wasn't the first time, at the last place we were at, I didn't have a single friend, basically been a loner. I hated having to move, there was no place I'd call home. Even worse without my dad, he and my mom got a divorce when I was 3. Went to go live with his new family somewhere.

"Still upset?" My mom spoke up as she looks at me and then back on the road.

"I just don't know why we're moving to a new place." I shrugged.

"You know this is where my new job is gonna be, it has good pay." She replied.

"You said that at the last job." I faced her as she made a stop at the new place. "Besides, you haven't even talked to the people. You just said yes, and we started packing."

"Kylea, please bare with me on this." She grabbed my hand. I looked at the kids playing and passing through, then looked at my mom.

"No way," I quickly shake my head scared. "Kylea, you are eight years old, it's time you go out and make some friends." My mother places her hand on my shoulder. "'Cause we're gonna stay here for a while."

I huffed. "Okay, mama." I climbed out of the car, grabbed my basketball and went to walk around.

As I was walking, some of the girls that must live here were staring at me, some were laughing and whispering. I rolled my eyes and went over to a basketball court as I dribbled my way there, two boys were there, they sounded like they were having a disagreement.

"Man, you stupid. No, she not..." One of them dragged as he faces me.

His friends looked confused till they looked at me too. Some drool was out their mouths and I rolled my eyes.

"Hey, I'm Kylea." I introduced myself as I grabbed the ball in my hands. The two boys stood there silent, two of them had their mouths open. "Uhm, and your names are?" I questioned, giving them a confused look.

"I'm Mike and that's Rick." He introduced himself and his friends.

"Nice to meet y'all. Wanna play ball?" I asked passing the ball to Mike.

"Yea, let's play," Rick said as he took the ball and we began to play ball. I ran up and grabbed the ball from Mike and made it in the basket with style.

"Okay, lucky shot." Mike ran to get the ball and dribbled it toward us. He passed it to Rick and he passed it back to me.

As we were playing I took a seat on the bench to catch my breath.

"What up y'all?" I saw a boy, a boy at that run up to the fellas. "Yo, what up, Bob." Ricky greeted, dapping him up. He faced me with a smile.

"And who is this, fine lady here?" He bit his lip and sat next to me.

"Kylea. Nice to meet you." I introduced myself, trying not to laugh at the way of his flirting.

"Bobby. Nice to meet you too." He grabbed my hand and gave it a kiss.

"Ewww," I laughed

"Awww, Bobby's in love!" Ricky teased.

"Shut the hell up! And no I'm not." He snatched the ball from him.

"You are, but it's cool. She fine anyway." Ricky snatched the ball back again and ran off as Bobby chased him.

"You guys are too much." I laughed as they took a seat on the bleachers.
