Cool It Now Tour Rehearsal-1985
I was sitting on the chairs set up in the audience, studying since I got a full-time tutor.
When they were finished with rehearsal. "I might pay to see that," Jeff comments.
"Man, you know that was fresh, ain't that right, Stro?" Bobby points to Brooke.
"Uh, there's room for improvement," Brooke responds.
I was humming to some music on my Walkman, I felt something on me, but I brushed it off. I felt it again, I looked down to see a paper ball on my lap.
I looked up at the boys laughing. "Y'all for real?" I asked, holding the paper ball.
"Had to get your attention somehow," Mike jumps off the stage and sits down next to me. "Being a bookworm and shit." He grabs the book and flips through the pages.
"Give it back," I grabbed it back and went to writing.
"Nerd ass," Bobby tossed a paper at me while laying against the brick wall on stage. "Rather be smart than a dumbass like you," I told him before going back to my writing.
"Guys? What...what the heck is all this?" We heard Gary ask as he walked up to the front.
"G! What's up, man?" Ricky says.
"Whaddup, G?" Mike says.
"Brooke? Jeffrey?" Gary calls them.
"Brooke, what is all this?" Gary asks looking at the stage.
"Part of the show," Brooke answers.
"Oh, they look great. It's like night and day compared to before. Gary looks at the guys in their suits and the stage. "But, I mean uh... we've gotta scale this back. What we got lasers, and you got a uh, a DJ and a band?"
As they were talking, something was blocking my light. I looked up to see Gary.
I took off my headphones, with some rap music blasting. "Kylea, you're supposed to be rehearsing."
"I got it, I'm already in my outfit and everything." I stood up and did a twirl.
