Author's Note: Each chapter will be from the point of view of a different character from the KDrama Penthouse e.g.: Shim Suryeon, Logan Lee, and Joo Seok Kyung. Please look out for the bold lettering showing whose perspective the chapter is being shown from.
Shim Suryeon's POV:
I'd never thought I'd found myself here again of all places. The place where my beloved friend Oh Yoon Hee died. The clifftop. But I had to reveal the truth to Eun Byeol. She wanted proof that her Mom was faking her dementia, so I was going to give it to her.
Holding my hand out, I demanded: "Eun Byeol, your phone, please. I'll need to call your Mom if you truly want to see proof of her deceiving you." Without hesitation, Eun Byeol unlocked her phone and handed it to me. "Here you go, Miss Shim." She obeyed.
I gave a small smile. "Thank you, Eun Byeol. Now here's the plan: Logan is going to take you that hill over there so you have a full view of everything you're about to witness." I explained gesturing my head above to the location.
Following my gaze, Eun Byeol nodded. As planned, Logan appeared by my side ready to take Eun Byeol. "Let's go, Eun Byeol," he said to her. I watched as he took her up to the hill and nodded at me, signaling to me everything was set. I looked at my watch.
"Cheon Seo Jin should be here for Eun Byeol any minute now." My thoughts informed me. Suddenly, I could hear the sound of tires screeching against the rubble of the clifftop. I turned to see Cheon Seo Jin's car shrieking to a halt. Wearing a black lace dress and her hair curled wearing her signature red lipstick was Cheon Seo Jin, as predicted.
"EUN BYEOL!! WHERE IS MY EUN BYEOL?!" She yelled at me, furious that I had quote on quote taken her child. I smirked and gestured to my car which contained a mannequin wearing a dark wig covered in a blanket to resemble a decoy of Eun Byeol.
Filled with anger, Cheon Seo Jin stomped towards me and grabbed me tightly by the shoulders. "I'M THE ONE YOU WANT! WHY DO YOU HAVE GET MY DAUGHTER INVOLVED YOU WITCH!" She shouted her blood boiling.
"Oh really?" I remarked acting clueless. "Come on, confess. Show your daughter your true colours Cheon Seojin." My thoughts urged.
"Take me instead, set Eun Byeol free! L-Look I'll admit it okay? I faked my dementia to get out of paying Joo Dan Te's debt to those loan sharks." She pleaded, letting go of my shoulders and kneeling on the floor.
"Wow, you finally admit it! It's a shame Eun Byeol is not going to be set free." I responded, crossing my arms. I turned my head towards Logan's secretary.
"Start the car please, Sir," I demanded. Nodding at me, he started the car which slowly drove towards the cliff with the decoy Eun Byeol.
"NO! YOU WITCH! I ALREADY CONFESSED I FAKED MY DEMENTIA! I. REMEMBER. EVERYTHING!!" She shrieked.
Eun Byeol's POV:
I was so shocked to hear my Mom's confession I put a hand to my mouth. Tears began to travel down my face as I took the phone from Logan and dialed the police.
"Hello? I'd like to turn in my Mother... Cheon Seo Jin. S-She murdered Oh Yoon Hee. I was there at the scene conscious." I stammered into the phone.
"Where are you and your Mother now?" queried the Police Officer.
"A-At the clifftop. W-Where Y-Yoon Hee died." I stuttered already beginning to break down in tears.
"Okay Eun Byeol, we're on the way. Hang in there okay?" said the Officer. Taking the phone away from my ear, I hung up and broke down more and more tears streaming down my face.
Logan crouched down patting me on the back. "It's okay Eun Byeol, you did the right thing." He said.
"Why, Oh why? I let people treat me like dirt and take advantage of me just to get money for her treatment only to find out she was faking it this whole time." I wailed.
Suddenly, an ear-splitting scream interrupted my wails.
Shim Suryeon's POV:
"MOVE!" She screamed at me shoving me to the side and stomping toward the still-moving car. With all her strength, she wrenched open the car door. Discovering that what she thought was Eun Byeol was in fact a decoy, she threw a tantrum.
"WHERE IS MY EUN BYEOL!? WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER YOU MONSTER?" She bellowed in rage as she grabbed me tightly by the shoulders yet again.
I smiled. "Your daughter has been watching this entire time," I confessed gesturing up to the hill. Following my gaze, Cheon Seo Jin looked up to see her daughter terrified.
Slowly letting go of me, she slowly walked towards her daughter. "Eun Byeol! I-It's not what you think, come down from there! Come to Mom." She called out to Eun Byeol.
I chuckled. "She turned you into the police already, they should be here any minute. It's too late Cheon Seo Jin. Accept your fate already." I remarked to the irritated Cheon Seo Jin.
"I'M NOT GOING DOWN ON MY OWN! I. WILL. NOT. ALLOW. IT!!!" She shrieked grabbing me and shoving me.
Before I knew it, I lost my balance from the shove and was heading straight towards the lake. I could hear Eun Byeol and Logan's screams as I plummeted towards the water.
"MOM!! NO!" Eun Byeol screamed breaking down into sobs once more.
"SHIM SURYEON! NO!" Logan screamed tears streaming down his face.
I could feel the water surrounding me, cold to the touch. I slowly blinked. Is this the end of my journey to avenge my daughter Min Seol Ah? I smiled. I guess this is the end. Min Seol Ah, my sweet daughter. Mother is coming.
