Shim Suryeon's POV:

"Shim Suryeon, wake up! We're almost there. Stay with us okay?" A familiar voice coaxed. I suddenly stood up and spluttered, coughing out water.

"Thank god, you're alright." Exclaimed Logan teary-eyed. I smiled. "Me too. Thank you for saving me, Logan." I replied, voice hoarse.

He beamed and caressed my hair still damp from the fall in the lake. My eyes slowly closed shut, exhausted.

I woke up in a hospital bed to the sound of machines beeping and voices murmuring. "How's her condition, Doctor?" asked Logan.

"She seems to be alright, Thankfully she doesn't have any brain damage only a few bruises on the shoulders." Informed the Doctor.

I glanced at my shoulders, now covered in medicine and huge bandages. "Can't believe Cheon Seo Jin almost killed me. I owe Logan for saving me." I thought.

"How are you feeling Suryeon? You slept like a baby on that rescue boat," remarked Logan smiling at me.

I smiled back. "Alright, thanks to you," I responded honestly.

The doors suddenly busted open and the Joo siblings dashed in. "MOM!! I'm so thankful you're okay!" Exclaimed Seok Kyung tears streaming down her face.

"Same here," said Seok Hoon wiping tears with his sleeves. I beamed in relief my kids were okay. "It's all thanks to Logan, he saved me when I thought there was no hope," I informed the siblings.

Seok Kyung and Seok Hoon hugged Logan, surprising him. "I don't know what we'd do without our Mom, thank you so much, Logan!" wailed Seok Kyung as Seok Hoon started tearing up.

I chuckled at Logan, amused he looked so surprised.

A few weeks later...

After resting for a couple of weeks, I felt fully recovered which was a relief to the Joo Siblings and Logan. One afternoon, I sat with them in Logan's hotel sipping tea and eating iced macarons brought by the room service.

Finishing her tea and macarons and settling the teacup on its saucer, Seok Kyung sat up straight and asked: "Mom? If you're feeling better, could we go visit Min Seol Ah?"

A wave of sadness suddenly came over me. The last time I visited Min Seol Ah I had dressed her in a beautiful dress and pristine white trainers I'd bought especially for her and applied my lipstick on her. She looked beautiful there resting peacefully. I just wish I could've gone back in time and recognized her as my biological daughter and taken her in.

"That's a wonderful idea, Seok Kyung," I said settling my teacup on its saucer. Seok Kyung and Seok Hoon smiled. "I agree, after everything that happened it only seems right we go pay our respects to her," said Seok Hoon.

Wiping traces of the iced macaron with a napkin, Logan nodded. "I'd like to go pay my respects to my stepsister too. It's been a while," he said.

So it was settled, we all got up and took our jackets off the coat hangers and got into the car.

At the cemetery...

The scorching sun shone on us, its rays feeling scalding hot as we walked towards Min Seol Ah's coffin. It lay on the catafalque decorated with bouquets of flowers and a gold picture frame with her face standing proudly along with a drawing I'd drawn of her and her Maltese dog Sugar and Logan's picture of him resting his head on his stepsister.

"Min Seol Ah, I'm so sorry. I feel ashamed to have treated you the way I did. You only wanted what was best for me as my tutor. And you would have made a beautiful prima donna if you got to go to Cheong A Arts High School. I wish I could have gone back in time and treated you differently not just because you're my twin sister but because you were only human and you were only doing what you had to do to survive." Seok Kyung lamented as she wept.

Meanwhile, Logan, Seok Hoon, and I knelt down in prayer. "I'll continue to avenge you, my sweet daughter. You were too young when you lost your life." I murmured.

Suddenly a stench hit our nostrils, making all of us stand upright. "Mom! What is that smell? Did you bring some overly fragrant candles?" Seok Kyung exclaimed wrinkling her nose.

"No, we didn't bring anything to the cemetery except our jackets. And there's no candles around her coffin." I explained to Seok Kyung, frowning.

A sudden look of alarm crossed Logan's face. "It must be coming from the coffin!" He exclaimed. Sharing looks of alarm with all of them, I bit my lip. "I swear to god if Cheon Seo Jin or Joo Dan Te hired their secretaries to do some cruel prank on poor Min Seol Ah, they'll pay," I vowed, blood boiling.

Carefully, we lifted the lid of the coffin and gasped at the contents. Inside was a wax replica of Min Seol Ah and due to boiling heat, it had started melting creating a powerful stench.

"Her body... It's gone!" Seok Kyung exclaimed in shock. Logan paced around, his handsome face crinkled into a frown. "This has to be Joo Dan Te or Cheon Seo Jin's doing. They must have hired their secretaries to do this." Logan replied certainly.

I agreed. Who else would have done such a horrible thing to my daughter?
