A pair of stony eyes were locked with her own. The man she loved more than anything, usually so calm and collected, focused on her as though it were he she had tried to perform the spell on - as though her actions had hurt him more than they had their intended target.

She couldn't bear those eyes - eyes which had always shone with so much affection for her, now filled with disapproval and fierce anger.

For she had betrayed everything he stood for. Every hope and dream he had for the world, and the people he wanted to represent... she had betrayed it all.

Ellie opened her eyes, rather idiotically expecting to still be at the foot of Grimmauld Place, but instead found herself lying on her back in what seemed to be some sort of grimy alleyway. The walls of the buildings that sandwiched her were covered in graffiti and crude posters. She could see the busy street - the humming of cars and the smell of petrol on the other side of the alley, as though peering in through a crooked window.

But a low groan from her side snapped her into alertness. She stumbled to her feet and found Hermione lying on her side, clutching her ankle.

The apparent absence of Harry and Ron didn't even seem to register as she fell to Hermione's side in panic.

"Are you okay? What - w-what should I do?"

Hermione let out another pained groan, hissing through her teeth. "Bag - get my bag..."

Ellie's eyes swivelled to the spot where she'd landed, hoping to find the tiny, beaded bag. When she realized its absence, so too did she notice Harry and Rons'.

"It's not here, Hermione." said Ellie with urgency. "Neither are Harry and Ron."

Hermione groaned again, this time Ellie doubted it was from pain, rather undiluted frustration.

"I gave it to Ron..." she said, as though just remembering. "Help me up, Ellie." she had one hand still firmly on her leg, but the other extending towards Ellie.

Ellie obliged, hoisting Hermione to her feet and allowing her to lean on her in standing position. Whatever her injury, it did not seem too severe.

"I think my ankle's broken..." Hermione hissed again. "And if my bag's not here..."

"It must be with Harry and Ron." Ellie concluded. "Who've clearly been separated from us in all the chaos."

"My fault, I'm afraid," Hermione muttered, clearly trying not to put too much of her weight on the small girl. "The Death Eaters were right on top of us, and we were way to far from Harry and Ron to grab them as well. I had to keep you safe, first and foremost."

"It's alright, Hermione," said Ellie kindly, "You don't have to worry about any of that right now, just lean on me."

"I hope Harry and Ron managed to get the locket..." Hermione mumbled.

"Everything happened so fast we didn't even get to verify that."

"How are we going to find them?" asked Ellie. "I don't think you can apparate like this."

"And even if I could, there's no way we'd be able to find them. They could've disapparated anywhere." Hermione used her free hand to pinch the bridge of her nose. She let out a frustrated sigh. "This is just perfect."

"What's our next move then?" asked Ellie cautiously, as though Hermione would snap at the query.

Silence.

"Hermione?"

"I -!" Hermione near-yelled, though took another breath to calm herself. "I don't know. We're stranded without my bag. Separated from Harry, Ron and the Horcrux. We have no means of healing my ankle and we seem to be open for the whole of London to see the moment we leave this alleyway. It almost certainly could not get any worse than this."
