There's a lot of genders and sexualities. A lot. Way too many for any person to memorize. There's also quite a few terms that may be unfamiliar to some. I've tried to create a comprehensive list here, but let me know if I'm missing anything!
~Terms
—AGAB: Assigned Gender At Birth. This can only be female (AFAB) or male (AMAB). You don't necessarily identify with this.
—FtM: Female to Male, a transgender person who is AFAB but identifies as a man
—MtF: Male to Female. As you'd guess, the opposite of FtM: a trans person who is AMAB but identifies as a woman
—LGBT/GLBT: Lesbian Gay Bi Trans/Gay Lesbian Bi Trans. There are several other acronyms for the community, but these are easy lol
—Binary Genders: Male and female. This includes transgender men and women.
—Neopronouns: Pronouns that aren't the traditional "he", "she", or "they". A couple examples are fae/faer and xe/xer.
—Top surgery: A gender-affirming surgery to change one's chest
—Bottom surgery: A gender-affirming surgery to change one's genitals
—HRT: Hormone Replacement Therapy, a gender-affirming treatment in which you receive hormones associated with the gender you identify with (testosterone or estrogen).
—Romantic vs Sexual: A —amorous person only feels romantic attraction to the given gender group, while a —sexual person experiences a sexual attraction. Just replace the —sexual in a sexuality with —romantic to make it a romantic orientation instead.
~Genders
—Cisgender: Identifying with AGAB.
—Genderqueer: Umbrella term for anyone who isn't cis
—Transgender: Someone whose AGAB is the opposite of what they identify as (e.g. AFAB identifying as a boy) (My FtM gang say hey!)
—Non-binary or Enby (NB): Someone who doesn't identify as a binary gender.
—Genderfluid: Someone whose gender changes and fluctuates.
>Genderflux: A type of genderfluidity where someone's gender might not only change between binary genders but between "shades" of gender. There are a lot of different types of genderflux, like boyflux (between masculinity and something else). (Again, where's my crew?)
—Questioning: Someone who doesn't know how they identify.
—Xenogenders: Any gender where someone feels their gender is more accurately described by something other than masculinity or femininity, like an object or adjective. One example is pyrogender, where one identifies their gender with fire.
—Agender: Someone who feels that they have no gender.
—Demigender: Someone who feels they're partially a gender, but partially not (demiboys feeling partially male and demigirls feeling partially female). Does not necessarily align with AGAB.
—Bigender: Someone who identifies with two genders, either at the same time or fluidly. It can be any two genders.
—Trigender: Essentially bigender but with three genders.
—Pangender: Bigender but with all genders.
~Sexualities
—Straight/Heterosexual: Someone who likes people of the opposite gender
—Homosexual/Gay: Someone who likes people of the same gender
>Lesbian: A woman who likes only other women
—Bisexual: Someone who is attracted two genders, not necessarily male and female. Can have a preference.
—Pansexual: Someone who is attracted to all genders without preference (once more, where's my gang at?)
—Omnisexual: Someone who is attracted to all genders with preference.
—Polysexual: Someone is attracted to many, but not all, genders.
—Polyamorous: Not to be mixed up with polysexual/polyromantic, polyamorous is being willing to date multiple people at once. This is not counted as part of the LGBT community, but I thought it was important I note that. (Last time, I swear, my people are summoned)
—Abrosexual: Someone whose sexuality is fluid
—Asexual: Someone who experiences little to no sexual attraction
—Demisexual: Someone who only experiences sexual attraction with someone they know well.
—Androsexual/Masexual: A sexual attraction to men, masculinity, or man-aligned people (commonly used by non-binary individuals)
—Gynesexual: Essentially androsexual, but with women/femininity.
—Centrosexual/Skoliosexual/Allotroposexual: Someone who is attracted to non-binary and/or trans people. These people may or may not be attracted to cis people as well.
—Queer: Any non-straight person.
